If you own a 3DS and were planning on only purchasing the digital version of Metroid: Samus Returns, you might want to rethink that decision.
During a GameXplain unboxing video and then shared on Twitter, it has been revealed that the physical 3DS box of Metroid: Samus Returns actually has a reversible cover and while one side is all Metroid: Samus Returns, the other side is a throwback in time, as the art is that of the Metroid game that Samus Returns is a remake off. For the players who have walked away completely from ARMS, in favour of Splatoon, next week we’ll have a reason to go back to it!
According to the official Twitter account for ARMS, the new teased update will arrive sometime in the middle of the week. Other than more balancing, not much has been said about what the update will entail, but we have been asked to stay tuned as more information is coming.

Lovers of Splatoon and anime, it is time to rejoice as a Splatoon anime isn’t just in the works, but it actually airs next month!
But who is responsible for this wondrous creation? Why it’s none other than CoroCoro. Having produced a Splatoon manga, it seems CoroCoro has decided to take its Splatoon antics to new heights. Only don’t go expecting it to be on TV, as it has been reported that the anime, which is based on the CoroCoro Splatoon manga, will be broadcasted on CoroCoro’s YouTube channel. Although this is good news since it means no matter where you live in the world, watching the anime is doable, but to understand it, you will need to have a decent understanding of the Japanese language.
Then again, since it will be on YouTube, it probably won’t be that long the likes of an English subtitled version becomes available and if it does, you can sure as hell expect to see the English subbed episode shared right here at Miketendo64. It is a Splatoon anime after all, how could we not share it?
But if you can’t wait until next month to get your Splatoon fix, Splatoon 2 releases this week and it is the sequel fans have been asking for!
Until next time, Stay Fresh!
It was has been a phenomenal 12 months, the video game industry has been booming and the popularity of The Legend of Zelda, Mario and Pokémon has soared, but so has the “King of Cool” called Pokémon GO.
Everyone knew Pokémon GO was going to take off and be big, but no one, not even Niantic and The Pokémon Company expect it to be as popular as it did become and while it may not be the global dominator it was a few months ago, Pokémon GO is still an app and a force to be reckoned with and because the app is now in its anniversary month, having been an actual thing released in the public for over a year, we wanted to do a little something for the players of the app. Continue reading [Random] A Message for the Trainers from Niantic’s Tatsuo Nomura
Just in case PlatinumGames haven’t got our hopes up enough of a Bayonetta port/Bayonetta 3 release for Switch, now they’re at it again!
Only instead of teasing Bayonetta once again, this time it’s a couple of the Wonderful 101 guys playing The Wonderful 101, on Switch with Famicom themed Joy-Con Controllers. For clarity, this does not mean a port is in the works, but simply PlatinumGames could be gauging fans interest in a port, or it could be a tease that a sequel could be in the works for Switch, or just maybe they want to stir us all into a speculative craze once again.
Whatever the reasoning behind all this though, it is all in good fun!

It is official, Pokémon GO is now one year’s old having released on this day over a year ago and to celebrate, Niantic have posted the following celebratory image:
Even if you are no longer playing Pokémon G0, you might have done at some point in the last 12 months, so if that is the case, what has been your favourite Pokémon GO related memory? Let us know!

*Update (06/07/15): It’s turned out to be like we said, the available demo version of the Japanese version of Monster Hunter XX and not a localised version in the works. This news comes from @NoruDarts who took the photo that started all of this in the first place.
What’s that? It’s time to fan the flames of Monster Hunter XX localisation speculation? You’re absolutely right it is!
Even now, there has been no news whatsoever regarding plans for the localisation of Monster Hunter XX, for Switch or 3DS and yet the day before Japan Expo kicks off in France (today), a sneaky peak at Nintendo’s sizeable booth has revealed a Monster Hunter XX Switch version demo station is in fact present and a photo of it can be seen here: Continue reading [Random] Demo Station of Monster Hunter XX for Switch Has Been Spotted at Japan Expo 2017 (France)
If I had to pick one videogame series other than The Legend of Zelda that I couldn’t get enough of, then that series would have to be Bayonetta.
Both Bayonetta 1 and 2 are exceptional games, with gorgeous graphics, lots of Angles to kill and just so much gaming quality that comes at an affordable price and I’m not the only one who thinks so. In fact for years now Bayonetta fans have been crying out for a third instalment and while no such thing has yet to be announced, I wouldn’t mind settling for having both games get ported to the Switch instead and such a thing might be happening after all. When Sports Battle Mekuru’s story began, it was called Project Mekuru and yet as good as its current name is, for Europe, it has been revealed it will have another.
The new name is Flip Wars and Flip Wars was available to play for media professionals who attended a post-E3 press only event in Paris. While it is most likely the same Flip Wars title is the one Sports Battle Mekuru will wield when it comes to North America, is has not yet currently been revealed as such just yet.
With a bit of luck, some Sports Battle Mekuru/Flip Wars news will come out way very soon. Summer has after all finally arrived.
