Opinion: What Nintendo Did Wrong With Wii U

Nintendo’s latest home platform hasn’t had the best of times since the system was released back in 2012…boy, has it really been that long? Nintendo thought that the Wii U would ride to success on the coattails of the Wii. Unfortunately the luck they’d enjoyed since 2006 had run out.

I remember that day in June when I first saw the Wii U. I’d just arrived home from school and did what a student who had finals coming up was expected to do. Grab some snacks, put my feet up and look at Nintendo’s E3 presser…don’t judge me for I was only 13 😀

As a way of celebrating E3 2016 Nintendo have slashed the prices on some pretty great titles. From today until June 21st players will get 40% on the following titles:

  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD – was $49.99 now $29.99

Heres A Look At The Special Edition Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE


Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is scheduled to make its western debut in less than two weeks and many gamers I know are itching to get their hands on the game. Well to hold you over until launch day GameXplain have posted their unboxing of the special edition.

The special edition of the game includes a copy of the game, an exclusive art book and a CD soundtrack. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE will be released on the Wii U in North America and Europe on June 24th.

Miitomo – New Clothing Items Available

Miitomo downloads seems to be slowing down but it is quite the opposite for the content. A number of new clothing items have been added to the app. Here’s the list:

  • Camo bucket hat
  • Duster cardigan
  • Pants w/ checkered hem
  • Basic mid-length socks
  • Zebra-print pumps
  • Fluffy puppy tail
  • Plate armor helmet (set)
  • Plate armor suit (set)

Nintendo Profits Fall 60% In 12 Months


Nintendo recently published its latest fiscal results and things aren’t looking that great. Revenue during the 12 month period fell by 8.2% to ¥504.5 billion ($4.5 billion) while profits fell by 60% to ¥16.5 billion ($149 million).

The company reported 3DS and Wii U hardware sales of 6.79 million units and 3.26 million units respectively. 48.52 million 3DS games were sold while 27.36 million Wii U games were sold.

The company plans to sell 800,000 Wii U systems in the next fiscal year. It was also announced that the NX will be released in March 2017. The BBC is also reporting that Wii U production may cease in 2018.

Xenoblade Chronicles Coming To Virtual Console


It has been announced that Xenoblade Chronicles will be making its way to the Wii U eShop as a virtual console title tomorrow. The title was previously released in Europe last year and will cost $19.99. Xenoblade Chronicles was first released on the Wii in June 2010.
