Exclusive! Ratalaika Games Reconfirm Plantera for Wii U & Show off a New Trailer

With more and more planned Wii U games being cancelled, due to technical difficulties, all is not lost for the Wii U.

Having spoken to the guys over at Ratalaika Games, they have confirmed that Plantera is in fact still planned for the Wii U and while they are unable to comment on a release date, they were able to confirm some other details. Firstly the 3DS version of Plantera has passed QA, whereas they are still waiting to hear back on the Wii U version, but it “should be sometime this week.” Secondly a new trailer Plantera has been approved and uploaded onto YouTube, and if you haven’t yet, you can see it right here:

Lastly, Ratalaika Games have also confirmed that at this current moment in time, they will continue to support the Wii U through to March, in the form of Plantera’s Wii U (and 3DS) release, and updates for both Wii U and 3DS versions of Blasting Agent and Defend Your Crypt.

Android Version of Fire Emblem Heroes Appears to Use Google Play Games

But why does this matter? I guess you’re going to have to read to find out.

According to Fire Emblem Heroes’ Play Store page states the game uses Google Play Games. A feature many games in the store uses, but a feature that often comes with in-game achievements, leaderboards, and even automatic sign-ins and page on mobile devices, a certain. But for the sake of asking it again, why does this matter?

Image may contain: text

Well how about the fact that Miitomo doesn’t use Google Play Games and while Super Mario Run is not currently out on android just yet, it does however have a pre-register page like Fire Emblem Heroes does in the Play Store, except unlike Heroes, it doesn’t use Google Play Services. This means the android version is the first of Nintendo’s apps to incorporate such a feature, but shows there is more to the game then we know already and has something to offer to devoted Google Play Games achievement seekers. Plus Miketendo64 gets credit for noticing and reporting on it first.

No automatic alt text available.

Although joking aside and yes the credit line was only intended as a joke, it would be interesting to learn what kind of achievements the game will utilise and see just how the leaderboard will be incorporated and function.

I am Setsuna Will Also be a Switch Launch Title in Europe & North America

For anyone who was disappointed about the fact that I am Setsuna is only going to launch on Nintendo Switch in Japan, I have good news!

Today Square Enix has confirmed that I am Setsuna is in fact not only going to be a Switch launch title in Japan, but also Europe and North America, only the title will not be available physically in those regions. Meaning if you want a retail version, you will have to import it from Japan, but in order to get the localised version, you can download it straight from the Switch eShop. But if you find yourself wondering if it is a game worth getting, here’s the Nintendo fact sheet: Continue reading I am Setsuna Will Also be a Switch Launch Title in Europe & North America

Guide: A Beginner’s Guide to the Heroes of Fire Emblem Heroes

On the 2nd of February, Nintendo’s third mobile application is set to release on both android and iOS platforms, but Fire Emblem is not the most popular of game series’. So with that in mind and plenty of new FE gamers expected to download the title next month, we’ve gone ahead and compiled this little guide to act as an introduction to some of the Heroes available in Fire Emblem Heroes! Kosuke Yabuki Confirms more Playable Fighters for Arms

While Arms may not be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch, it is a new piece of colourful IP that releases this Spring and in my opinion, is already a must have game!

That being said, it is a game we know very little about, but thanks to Kosuke Yabuki, Arms’ Producer, during the stage show for Arms art the Nintendo Switch Experience in Japan last week, we did get to learn a few new facts. Firstly special attacks can be guarded, the gauge for special attacks charges every time you hit someone, or someone hits you, some stages feature objects that can be destroyed, but most of all, Arms has more characters then the 5 we already know about.

As a fighting game it’s to be expected there would be more fighters, because to have a fighting game that solely consisted of five playable characters, then it would actually be a bit dull, which is why this news is so great as it is official confirmation that Arms does boast a bigger line-up of unusual combatants. However before Nintendo do get around to tell us about the new fighters, it would be nice if they got round to better familiarising us with the five we’ve seen already. Or am I the only one who wants to know everything there is to know about Ribbon Girl, Springman, Master Mummy, Ninjara and Mechanica?

If you answered “no,” then we are of the same mind, but if you said “yes,” then it means you require further convincing, so here’s a trailer and prepare to succumb to the colourful side of the Nintendo Force!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (A Game of 120 Shrines and 76 Side-quests)

*UPDATE (23/01/17): It seems the information for the two guides said too much, as both the Standard and Collector’s Edition Breath of the Wild game guides by Piggyback, have now been removed from amazon.co.uk)

If there was only one thing we could count on in this world, it would have to be amazon, as we can always count on amazon to leak some interesting news about our favourite games.

In fact, amazon has a history of leaking information on Zelda games and Breath of the Wild is no exception as two of the three official Piggyback Breath of the Wild game guides have made their way onto amazon.co.uk and this time in the product description, amazon has revealed that there are in fact 120 Shrines through-out the game, 76 side-quests and even 900 Korok seed puzzles!

Fire Emblem Heroes is Only Coming to a Select Number of Countries

By now you’ll have heard the news that Fire Emblem Heroes is coming to both android and iOS devices, so let’s talk about something you won’t have heard.

Despite our huge Fire Emblem Heroes write-up, there was something we didn’t write about and that’s Heroes country availability, (our excuse for though is the fact we didn’t know about this list at the time.) Going by the list that is presented, unlike Super Mario Run, which is available in 150 countries, Heroes is only available in 39. Zoink Games Tease Zombie Vikings on Nintendo Switch

The team over at Zoink Games must be fans of Nicalis, because today they took a leaf out of Nicalis’ book.

Today on Twitter, Zoink Games didn’t share a photo of Zombie Vikings (a game that some ZG fans would was intended for a Wii U release, only to have the game scrapped), working on the Nintendo Switch, but they shared a video of it up and running and working!
