It’s that time of the month again, another month has ended and it was just as mental. I thought October was bad what with us producing 40+ Switch reviews, but we’ve done it again this month and you know what? I absolutely love it!
Not to delay it any further though, it is my utmost pleasure that I get to present to you the excellence that is our November 2017 Miketendo64 Review Round-up:
If like me, you’re on the plus side of 20, there’s a good chance you might remember a Nintendo related cereal product that came to be in 1986 and discontinued in 1989.
It may not have had the longest of runs, bit the Nintendo Cereal System did have a decent one and now it seems Nintendo are ready to revisit the past once again as today they have officially revealed a new Super Mario Cereal by Kelloggs that will be hitting the States this very December. Only unlike the original box, the new creation also doubles as an amiibo and the full details can be seen right here:
Love amiibo and the things they let you do when playing certain games? Let’s be honest, who doesn’t but with so many of the things and so many uses to keep track off remembering them all can get problematic, but worry not for @moldyclay is on the case.
With the Champions wave of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo set to roll out next week, besides a few known facts about them, there’s still more to learn. Luckily for us though, Nintendo has taken it upon themselves to clue us all in thanks to a new post on Facebook. Here’s what they had to say:
It’s that time of the month again, another month has ended and a whole lot of reviews were posted, only this time, a whole lot more games were reviewed and Super Mario Odyssey made its way to the general public!
Without any further delay, it is my utmost pleasure that I get to present to you the excellence that is our October 2017 Miketendo64 Review Round-up: Continue reading [Feature] The October 2017 Miketendo64 Review Round-up

With the release of Super Mario Odyssey just around the corner and three new Mario amiibo coming along with it, they won’t be the only amiibo to unlock items in-game. The Wedding versions of Mario, Peach & Bowser can grant temporary power-ups like invincibility, a Life-Up heart or show the location of coins in the region.
The Super Mario Series amiibo and the Super Mario themed Smash Bros. Series amiibo will unlock costumes for Mario to wear in game. They can however, be unlocked normally in the game but by using amiibo, you can obtain them instantly. Here are the compatible amiibo you can use to unlock costumes
Mario (Super Smash Bros. series)
Peach (Super Smash Bros. series)
Luigi (Super Smash Bros. series)
Diddy Kong (Super Smash Bros. series)
Bowser (Super Smash Bros. series)
Dr. Mario (Super Smash Bros. series)
Wario (Super Smash Bros. series)
Mario (Super Mario series)
Luigi (Super Mario series)
Peach (Super Mario series)
Bowser (Super Mario series)
Gold Mario (Super Mario series)
Wario (Super Mario series)
Diddy Kong (Super Mario series)
Waluigi (Super Mario series)
Mario Classic Colors (Super Mario 30th Anniversary)
Mario Modern Colors (Super Mario 30th Anniversary)
All other amiibo will also work, but they will only generate in-game help. For some reason, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Boo, Koopa Trooper and Goomba, don’t seem to unlock outfits. Maybe because these characters don’t wear any clothes and I don’t think anyone wants to see Mario run around in only a tie, though Mario in a Yoshi Costume would be cool but too be honest I don’t think the outfits will be character themed, or ar they? Only time will tell.

There can be no denying that August was a phenomenal month for the Nintendo Switch and yet as good as it and its offerings was, September came along and blew it out of the water so hard that we’re still up to our eyeballs in games to review, but don’t worry, we will get through them!
Still just because we have some reviews left to do, it doesn’t mean we were sitting around and doing nothing for September as a whole range of reviews got posted and we couldn’t be prouder of what we were able to achieve in one of our hardest/best months yet! After first being revealed as part of TGS 2017, Nintendo has come forwards to announce DLC plans and amiibo details for the West and while the press release we’ll be sharing below is the American version (Nintendo UK sent out a slightly different one,) we’ll also be including the prices for those who use pound sterling:
If there is only one thing to be remembered about amiibo, let it be this, amiibo is the gift that keeps on giving.
As part of a tie in for Metroid: Samus Returns, two new amiibo were revealed and released last week and having gone on to purchase both the game and the amiibo, one TourianTourist took his new amiibo and made an interesting discovery when he tried the amiibo of a Metroid with both Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Blast Ball and that discover was unlockable Paint Jobs. Granted this is by no means breaking news, but it is interesting to say the least, especially since the amiibo unlocks the Flying Life-Form paint job, which allows for 5 Repair Caps to be carried instead of 1, whereas in Blast Ball, it unlocks the Floating Parasite costume, and both can be seen below thanks to the pictures TourianTourist has shared:
Flying Life-Form: (Metroid Prime: Federation Force Paint Job)
Floating Parasite: (Metroid Prime: Blast Ball Paint Job)
As for what the new Samus Aran amiibo does, she does nothing new as she works in the same capacity as the Smash amiibo and unlocks the same costumes, but the thing to take away from all this though, as TourianTourist points out is the fact that the use of the Metroid thing has to have been something that’s been planned for a long time, as both Metroid Prime spin-off titles for 3DS released last year and Nintendo never said a thing. Heck not even the back of the Metroid amiibo says anything, so either Nintendo did forget, or no one needed to know and was going to know, until someone inquisitive like TourianTourist spilled the beans.
Whatever the case though, let’s all congratulate TourianTourist on a great find, he deserves it!
For anyone itching to join a Switch party conga line, the opportunity to do so is almost upon us and according to Rising Star Games, their soon to release Conga Master Party will feature a range of exclusive features and amiibo support, which you can read all about, right here:
It may not have had Smash, Animal Crossing or Metroid Prime 4 shown off for Switch, but what the Direct did have, was a lot of fantastic news for gamers of Switch and 3DS devices and we’re sharing it all right here right now, as part of a Nintendo recap in Press Release form:
Yacht Club Games, have released a special reveal trailer featuring the Game Grumps to unveil 3 new amiibo, Plague Knight, Spectre Knight & King Knight. These three amiibo will available in a multipack and will no doubt have special functions to the each corresponding Character and their Game. Whether they will have functionality in each others story modes is not yet known but it is cool of Yacht Club Games to create amiibo versions of their characters. Maybe we could expect to see even more Shovel Knight characters get their own amiibo, like the whole Order Of No Quarter. That would be awesome! Anyhow, here is the reveal trailer for the amiibo.
