Following on from the announcement of the Sora amiibo release date, it seems Nintendo is not quite done with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, although it may not be in the way you would hope. With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate celebrating its fifth anniversary since its release in 2018, Nintendo has announced today that a special 5th year anniversary will be underway this weekend that will allow players to earn five times the EXP and SP in battles.
#SmashBrosUltimate is five years old today! To celebrate, a special five-day spirit event will be held, starting on 08/12. Get five times the amount of EXP and SP from battles during the event, plus five extra Snack (L) items. pic.twitter.com/tjOsq1VdYg

That’s not all, though, as four new spirit events have been confirmed for next year starting January. While nothing has been revealed as to what the new spirits will be, We can only surmise that they may be themed on Nintendo’s biggest games this year like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Pikmin 4, and Super Mario Wonder.
Also, a special tag-team Tourney will be on the way that will allow players to train and fight alongside their amiibo fighter as they compete against other players around the world.
What do you think of Smash Bros. Ultimate getting a few more spirit events next year? Will you be taking part in the Tag-Team amiibo tourney? Let us know in the comments.
