Hello and welcome back to Jacktendo Selects, the monthly feature in which sees me count down my favourite games on Switch in the month that they came out and reveal the game I’m most looking forwards to from the following month!

This time around, instead of revealing the Top 6, I’m revealing the Top 5 Switch games that met my rules! “What rules may they be?” you may wonder. Well a game can only appear in this list, if I have personally played it and reviewed it. It will also need to be a full game, which means if it is a demo like the ARMS Global Testpunch, than it won’t be making an appearance, but the full game sure is!

So from least favourite to personal favourite, here are My Top 5 Switch Games of May 2017:

However, since the photo list does not reveal how each title faired in my reviews, here’s a written list that does just that goes from highest score game to the lowest and provides links to the reviews themselves:

9/10 – Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas

9/10 – Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

8/10 – ARMS

8/10 – Mighty Gunvolt Burst

7/10 – Plantera DX

And just so they don’t feel left out, here’s a few of the other Switch games that were reviewed this month, one by my partner in crime (Mike Scorpio) and another by uours truly for a Switch game that came out last month:

6/10 – Battle Sports Mekuru (Otherwise known as Flip Wars)

Video Review: Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas: (Mike Scorpio)

But now that we have covered games that are out and available already (and already reviewed by myself), it is time to reveal the game I am most looking forwards to playing in May and surprise, surprise it’s Splatoon 2. I was never really that much of a fan of the first game and did not go out my way to own a copy, yet I did tell myself that I would make more of an effort if a sequel came out and next month, a sequel is coming out and I am really looking forwards to it.  But if it doesn’t live up to my hopes and expectations, not to worry as there are plenty of games releasing this month, including ones that aren’t publically revealed. Plus The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Master Trails dlc has arrived, so it’s not like I won’t be spoiled for choice this month of July!

And now with the end of this edition almost within sight, it is time for me to pick 1 of the 65 games that made it onto my list this month, as a recommendation/must-own/get for Switch game and this month it is Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas. The game is just incredible and a hugely welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch as the two clearly go hand in hand. It’s got the charm of a Zelda game and the desire to be its own game at the same time! But yes, for the month of July, my Jacktendo Selects title is none other than Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas because it really is just an all-out incredible gaming experience!
