ARMS & 1-2 Switch Won’t be Nintendo’s Only Unique IP for Nintendo Switch

As nice as it is to have new instalments to series’ that we love, sometimes it’s nice to get an all new IP and it seems that is the case as far as the Nintendo Switch is concerned.

During a recent interview with a Japanese magazine, Nintendo’s own Shinya Takahashi has confirmed that ARMS and 1-2 Switch will not be the only fresh new Nintendo’s own IP we can expect to see as far as the Switch is concerned as Nintendo are “preparing one new IP straight after the other,” and that there are some titles in development already. Let’s Talk About… ARMS (A Game Worth Keeping an Eye On)

If you are reading this, then it means you have come here expecting to check out our latest instalment of Let’s Talk About, but I’ve got some bad news for you. This is not a written edition! We’ve taken the audio and made it an LTA Podcast instead! So now you know what’s going, let’s get to it. It’s bright, it’s colourful and it’s slightly insane! Let’s Talk About Arms! Kosuke Yabuki Confirms more Playable Fighters for Arms

While Arms may not be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch, it is a new piece of colourful IP that releases this Spring and in my opinion, is already a must have game!

That being said, it is a game we know very little about, but thanks to Kosuke Yabuki, Arms’ Producer, during the stage show for Arms art the Nintendo Switch Experience in Japan last week, we did get to learn a few new facts. Firstly special attacks can be guarded, the gauge for special attacks charges every time you hit someone, or someone hits you, some stages feature objects that can be destroyed, but most of all, Arms has more characters then the 5 we already know about.

As a fighting game it’s to be expected there would be more fighters, because to have a fighting game that solely consisted of five playable characters, then it would actually be a bit dull, which is why this news is so great as it is official confirmation that Arms does boast a bigger line-up of unusual combatants. However before Nintendo do get around to tell us about the new fighters, it would be nice if they got round to better familiarising us with the five we’ve seen already. Or am I the only one who wants to know everything there is to know about Ribbon Girl, Springman, Master Mummy, Ninjara and Mechanica?

If you answered “no,” then we are of the same mind, but if you said “yes,” then it means you require further convincing, so here’s a trailer and prepare to succumb to the colourful side of the Nintendo Force!

Nintendo Switch Confirmed! Arms

If you were a fan of Pokken Tourtnament, then you will love Arms for the Nintendo Switch!

Arms is a fighting game, much like any fighting game we’ve seen before, except the fighters have arms that can extend a long way, making fights a lot more interesting! As explained by Kosuke Yubuski, the Producer of Arms, it is a game that sees players arm themselves with the Joy-Cons (each player will need two) and requires to be held in the thumbs up position. Arms features highlights include:

  • Player versus PC.

  • Players vs friends.

  • Online battles are coming soon.

  • Special attacks are included.

  • More techniques can be learned the more you play.

  • Playable characters include String Man and Ribbon girl

  • Releases in Spring.
