We at Miketendo64 are extremely happy to announce that the Nintendo Switch has sold over 10 million units worldwide. This is incredible as it only launched in March and in only 9 months, it has surpassed over two thirds of the Wii U’s lifetime sales.
This is extremely good news especially for the wellbeing of Nintendo as as company and it really does look like the Big N is bouncing back.
Here is what Nintendo Of Europe President Shitoru Shibata had to say.
“We are thrilled that fans all across Europe and around the world are enjoying the gameplay experiences that only Nintendo Switch can offer, whether it be the newest adventures with Super Mario and Link, or unique games such as1-2-Switch, where players look at each other and not the screen.”
Though I don’t think the Switch will reach sales like the Wii which is well above 100 million units, I do believe that it could surpass Gamecube sales within the next year just as long as Nintendo can keep knocking out great 1st party titles and maintain support from 3rd parties.
Just a heads up for anyone who doesn’t want to pay scalper prices for amiibo. The Majora’s Mask Link amiibo is available again for pre-order on Amazon Spain for the reasonable price of €14.90 ($20.00 approximately) The relaunch date is labelled at December 14th but after you make your purchase, amazon may send you another email announcing that the amiibo can be sent before the relaunch date. Here is a screenshot from the website below.
It does seem to ship abroad as well but you will have to take shipping costs into account, afterall, what is the point of buying an amiibo for $20 if you have to spend more than $10 dollars to have it shipped. It may also be worth checking out your region’s Amazon webpage to see if it is also available at a more affordable cost. It has not been announced if the Twilight Princess Link or Skyward Sword Link will get a reprint but fingers crossed they do.
Huzzah! We finally have a release date for Yooka-Laylee coming to Nintendo Switch. I know I am a bit behind with bringing the good news so I apologize for my tardiness but the wait for Playtonic’s Brainchild, Yooka Laylee, will be coming to an end on December 14th. The game development company that is made up of mostly ex-RARE employess took to their company blog and Twitter to announce to the world that we can expect the chameleon and bat duo on Nintendo’s hybrid console before christmas.
They also state that this is the polished version of the game that comes with all the bells and whistles that was patched into the other versions that released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. It also comes with some Switch exclusives as well. There has been no mention of a physical release as of yet but if it does happen, it will no doubt be next year. Yooka- Laylee will be available to pre-order on the Nintendo Switch eShop on December 7th.
Here is the full statement from Playtonic Games via their blog.
Yooka-Laylee will release for Nintendo Switch on Thursday, December 14!
… Phew! That felt pleasant, didn’t it?
Available to pre-order from the Nintendo eShop from December 7, Yooka-Laylee for Nintendo Switch features a shed-load of polish and updates, including single-JoyCon play across all eight multiplayer games, a custom Achievement system, plus the ability to take our collecting duo on the go without the need for extravagant extension leads!
The Playtonic team has spent many, many months optimising Yooka-Layleefor Nintendo Switch (with technical help and support from Nintendo and Unity themselves!) and we believe we’re delivering a version Nintendo fans can be proud of.
Players can expect a quality experience both on and away from the television and on top of that, Switch players will benefit from the huge list of updates we’ve added since launch such as a brand new camera mode, control improvements, menu options, music… and a lot more!

Capcom have released details about Game sales for Ultra Street Fighter II and Monster Hunter XX on Nintendo Switch after their Financial Results Meeting. Capcom have said once again that Ultra Street Fighter II is a smash hit after shipping 500,000 units worldwide to date.
Monster Hunter XX for Nintendo Switch has shipped 350,000 units which is not bad going considering it has only been released in Japan, though there is a big chance that the game have been exported by western gamers due to the Switch being “Region Free.” Capcom state that it is performing strongly but have yet to say when we can expect the game to come to the West.
