Splatoon (UPDATE & AN UNDER THE SEA SPLATFEST):

Earlier this week Splatoon received a new update, which brought eight new weapon sets to the Ammo Knights weapon shop and introduced the shop’s proprietor’s Sheldon’s Picks. There was also adjustments made to multiple weapons, the Splatfest power value of the rank S+ and changes made to a couple of the stages. (For the full details, be sure to check out the source article.)

And sticking to Splatoon, the next biggest Splatfest, revealed by Nintendo of America on Twitter, will consist of diving players by asking the question: Spongebob or Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants.

Pokémon Movies (ANIMATED AND LIVE ACTION):

With two subjects to discuss, the first is the release of the third official trailer of the upcoming Pokémon film, Volcanion & The Ingenious Magearna, which was aire don Oha Suta, a Japanese variety show earlier this week. You can find the tráiler below:

And should things go well, we might just see the Pokémon movies take the leap from animated to live action as the likes of Warner Bros. and Sony are have thrown their names into the hat to make the live action film a reality, but they’re not alone. Legendary Entertainment are also making a bid and hope to sweep the others under the rug and given their success with the more recent Godzilla film, (along with help of Warner Bros.) they might just be the best option to go with, but for now we will just have to wait and see.

Weekly Review (SUPER MARIO WORLD (SNES), MARIO & LUIGI: PAPER JAM & FINAL FANTASY EXPLORERS):

Had this not have been the week where the Miketendo64 team grew, this week’s review would have been Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, but because Mr Panda had plenty to share, we’ve postponed my review until next week, so this installment of our weekly news can focus on the reviews by Mr Panda, which involves a double dose of Mario in an old and a new adventure and a touch of Final Fantasy. With each title different to the other, there is some true variety in these games and all three of them are especially worth the play, so if you would like to hear Mr Panda’s full and unfiltered thoughts, be sure to click the links below:

This week on Miketendo64 (COSTUMES, RUMOURS AND LEAKS):

Turns out people really do love gossip and rumours as articles pertaining to that nature have claimed two of our Top spots this week, which can be found below, along with a little Miitomo news.

Taking 3rd place was: More Rewards for Miitomo! A nice little write-up we put out on the 14th of April when new rewards appeared on the My Nintendo website. But these were no normal rewards as they are clothing items that can be brought with your Platinum points and worn by your Mii in the Nintendo mobile app Miitomo.

In second 2nd place was our write-up following the NX rumours that came straight from the typed words of NeoGaf user 10K: Rumour Has It: The NX and the Wii U Have a Lot in Common! Among the rumours shared was the “confirmation” of Zelda U and Smash Wii U/3DS being ported to the NX, along with Splatoon and Super Mario Maker, provided things go exactly as Nintendo hope. But despite the amount of rumours 10K did give, it turns out he had a few more to share, rumours such as Luigi’s Mansion 3 for the NX and just what kind of a controller we can expect to see for it. For more on the other rumours he shared, be sure to read our follow-up piece: Rumour Has It: NX Controller Secrets and Luigi’s Mansion 3.

Now as for our biggest article of the week, why it can only be one that pertains to Pokémon GO: All New Details! First Hand Pokémon GO Account Reveals. With the field testing in Japan still ongoing, a few of the individuals who were lucky enough to take part, took to the internet to share what they’ve seen and experienced so far. But given the nature of all their reveals, we only listed the very best, but made sure to include a link to where all the rest can be seen. For more on this and the other articles that made it in to our Top 3, feel free to use any and all of the links below:

2nd) Rumour Has It: The NX and the Wii U Have a Lot in Common!

3rd) More Rewards for Miitomo!

Animal Crossing (15 YEARS ON):

This week’s big, Big News is the 15th anniversary of Animal Crossing. With so many iconic series’ celebrating milestones this year (Pokémon, Zelda, Metroid and Castlevania being the obvious ones,) Animal Crossing finds itself being another series to be added to the list. I will never understand how this game managed to become such a success that it has so many games and its own line of amiibos and amiibo cards, but just because I’m not interested in it that doesn’t mean many of you lot aren’t.

For a select kind of gamers, this series has a spot of its own in your hearts, just like Zelda and Mario do in the hearts of another select bunch of Nintendo gamers and given just how far this game has come in such a short time, you can bet Animal Crossing will still be around for the next 15 years, so with that in mind, here’s a video of the series through the ages.

The Expansion Of The Miketendo64 Team:

As final piece of news from our inner most workings, the Miketendo64 team has grown this week as many bloggers from around the world heard our plea for volunteers to help us on this site. Many of them are very good followers of ours (and we are of them) and have agreed to help post even more great content on our little website and in good time too! As in just over two weeks, Miketendo64 will be celebrating its first year anniversary on May 5th. We will have a special commemorative post that day along with the first of many (hopefully) giveaways for our followers. With over 800 followers to date and around 32,000 hits on our website, we really can’t thank you all enough for your support! The fine souls that have joined our team are; Kuribo of NintendoFigures.Net, Mr. Panda of Mr Panda’s Reviews, Dan of Dan’s Gaming News, David of Gamer2006 and Victoria Thorley of Handheld Gaming Network.

Miketendo 64 contributors

With so much rumours and leaks out this week, you can be sure many more will follow as we move closer to this year’s E3, but we promise only to share the most believable ones. And remember, if this round up of the news isn’t enough, you can find plenty of articles on our site waiting to be read and whatever news comes out next, we’ll be sure to share it here just like we always do!
