EU Switch eShop Listing States Breath of the Wild DLC Pack 2 to Release in December

Oh, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, what are you doing to us today?

If Zelda fans didn’t get enough news regarding new content for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, today (new side-quest with new costume available as a prize being distributed on November 9th) it’s time for some less official news. According to an updated listing of Breath of the Wild in the European Switch eShop, the Champions’ Ballad DLC Pack that adds a new dungeon, original story and new challenges, is due out in December.

By no means is this official confirmation, as for now it is circumstantial, but like Nintendo has said time and time again, the second DLC pack will be out this year and with just November and December left, next month is as good a time as any to bring it out. But until Nintendo officially come out and give us a date, which they will do soon enough, for now nothing is set in stone.

Nintendo Further outline Breath of the Wild DLC Details and Reveal Champion amiibos

I was hoping there would be some The Legend of Zelda goodness shown at this year’s E3 and Nintendo did not disappoint.

In a new piece of footage for what is one of the best games on Nintendo Switch, it has been revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Summer dlc will toll out on the 30th of June, consisting of everything we have previously learned about, as well as giving a name to the other dlc pack (The Champion’s Ballad,) which will release later on this year.

More than that though, it seems more amiibo for Breath of the Wild is on its way after all, except instead of being a reprint, it’s new amiibo entirely and this time the amiibos are of the Champions from Breath of the Wild. (Daruk, Mipha, Urbosa and Revali). Given the recent demand for custom amiibo of these particular characters, I’d expect it won’t be too long before they are sold out, when they eventually release.

And because that’s not all, we also have the following fact sheet to offer:

Expand your Adventure:

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game packs countless hours of play into a vast world of discovery. That makes it an ideal foundation for more adventures! If you own the full game, the Expansion Pass grants access to three new treasure chests, DLC Pack 1, “Master Trials,” and DLC Pack 2, “The Champions’ Ballad,” as they are released.

BOTW Expansion Pass

DLC Pack 1 “Master Trials” includes: Trial of the Sword, Master Mode, Hero’s Path, Travel Medallion, Korok Mask and eight new pieces of armor. It will be released June 30.

BOTW Master Trials

Features:

  • Extend your unforgettable adventures with this Expansion Pass (DLC Pack 1 and Pack 2 cannot be purchased individually.)

  • Trial of the Sword challenges the player to go through waves of enemies in a total of 45 rooms. By completing the challenge, Link will prove that he has grown worthy, and the Master Sword will be awakened to always be in its glowing, powered-up state while useable.

  • New Master Mode offers unique challenges to the player via stronger enemies and floating platforms. You might even meet higher ranking enemies you don’t see in normal mode!

  • Hero’s Path mode tracks every step you take, so you can watch the last 200 hours of your journey unfold on the map, and use a slider to scroll through a timeline. This is a helpful feature to see where in the world you have yet to explore.

  • The Travel Medallion will let you register the location you’re currently at as another fast travel point on the map.

  • Korok Mask – If Link wears it, it will shake when a hidden Korok is nearby.

  • Eight additional pieces of armor themed after previous Zelda game characters – Midna, Tingle and Phantom. Each piece is in a treasure chest located somewhere in Hyrule, which you must find.

  • Four new Champion amiibo™ figures* will be coming later. More details will be announced at a later date.

  • Save data for your game in Master Mode will be kept separately from your regular mode save data.

*For the sake of saying it, the Expansion Pass is also Compatible with the Wii U version of the game, as well as Switch.

We hope you enjoyed today’s Zelda news as much as we did.

[Editorial] Should the Next Remastered Zelda Game be One of Capcom’s Creations?

As part of our ongoing promise to have more opinion pieces and original content, it’s time to add another article to that list and this time we’re keeping it Zelda focused.

While not every Zelda fan is happy with all the Zelda remasters/remakes and releases we’ve been getting the last decade, there are still plenty of us who have been enjoying them immensely and since it is common belief that we will get at least one more remaster before 2020 finally comes, is it time for a remake of one of the Capcom games?
