Why simply celebrate the release of one Zelda game when we can dedicate an entire month to the series we all love so much and highlight the many Nintendo Switch games where Link makes an appearance as a playable protagonist?
For the reason just stated, games such as Diablo III: Eternal Collection and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will not be included, despite the fact they support Zelda themed content via the use of amiibo. However, the likes of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are. Without any further delay, it’s time for today’s game:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (March 3, 2017)
Official Description:
Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games. Step into a world of discovery, exploration, and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. Travel across vast fields, through forests, and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the kingdom of Hyrule in this stunning Open-Air Adventure. Now on Nintendo Switch, your journey is freer and more open than ever. Take your system anywhere, and adventure as Link any way you like.
After a 100-year slumber, Link wakes up alone in a world he no longer remembers. Now the legendary hero must explore a vast and dangerous land and regain his memories before Hyrule is lost forever. Armed only with what he can scavenge, Link sets out to find answers and the resources needed to survive.
Discover the vast world around you – Explore the landscape of Hyrule any way you like. Climb up towers and mountain peaks in search of new destinations, and use a mysterious tablet called the Sheikah Slate to view a map of Hyrule and scope out points of interest.
Link can cover a lot of ground quickly on horseback, navigate the waters of Hyrule on a raft, or hit the slopes and surf down a mountain on his shield. And the sky’s the limit when Link soars through the sky with his paraglider.
Fight for your kingdom – Relying on his wits and resourcefulness, Link can acquire many different weapons to use in combat. However, these items will wear out over time, so he must always be on the lookout for more.
There’s more to fighting than just weapons, of course. Link will also have to learn a variety of different attacks – like high-flying bow shots and how to handle explosives – in order to prevail.
Be prepared and properly equipped – Hunt wildlife, pick fruits and vegetables, or raid enemy camps for food to sustain Link through his adventures. You can even learn recipes to spice things up! New dishes are more than just improving the taste, though – they can also heal Link and boost his stats.
Link can also wear some pretty stylish outfits, but different clothes can also help shelter him from the elements or deflect enemy fire. You can find all kinds of clothes for Link, from snow gear to armour, but be careful – if you wear metal during a storm, you may be in for a shock!
