Details Revealed On Free Updates For Switch Games On Nintendo Switch 2 -

The Nintendo Switch 2 is almost here and while we may all be ready to jump onto the next console and play, it is worth noting that Nintendo has highlighted a number of first party Switch titles that will not only be compatible on the new system, but will receive free updates too. The list of games include ARMS, Big Brain Academy: Brain Vs. Brain, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics, Game Builder Garage, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Most of the updates are for optimized visuals to improved image quality on Nintendo Switch 2 displays and high-resolution TVs, but some games will be making use of the Gameshare function as well as HDR support and even mouse controls for the likes of Game Builder Garage. The latter is a very welcome feature indeed as I think we may see a new wave of interest in the game as players return to it and make use of the newly added mouse controls. All updates for the previously listed games will go live on the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2 launch, June 5th, 2025.
