Hello and welcome back to Jacktendo Selects, the monthly feature in which sees me count down my favourite games on Switch in the month that they came out and reveal the game I’m most looking forwards to from the following month!

Just like I did in the previous instalment, I will be once again revealing my Top 6 Switch games that met my rules! “What rules are they?” you may wonder, well a game can only appear in this list, if I have personally played it and reviewed it. It will also need to be a full game, which means the likes of May’s Disgaea 5 Complete Tetris demo will not be featuring an appearance, but the full game sure is!

So from least favourite to personal favourite, here is My Top 6 Switch Games of May 2017:

Some of you may be wondering why Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers isn’t on this list and there is a simple explanation for that and it is because I didn’t review the game. While I do pen a lot of our Switch reviews, it doesn’t fall down to me to write every Switch review our site posts. Instead I solely reviewed those you see above and I can honestly say 3 of them are simply fantastic titles that do deserve to be a Nintendo Switch game.

However, since the photo list does not reveal how each title faired in my reviews, here’s a written list that does just that goes from highest score to lowest and provides links to the reviews themselves:

9/10 – Disgaea 5 Complete

7/10 – Dark Witch Music Episode: Rudymical

7/10 – Astro Duel Deluxe

7/10 – Thumper

7/10 – TumbleSeed

7/10 – Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition

And just so they don’t feel left out, here are a few of the other Switch games that were reviewed this month by my partner in crime, Mike Scorpio:

8/10 – NBA Playgrounds

8/10 – Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers

8/10 – Wonder Boy and the Dragon’s Trap

But now that we have covered games that are out and available already (and already reviewed by myself), it is time to reveal the game I am most looking forwards to playing in May and surprise, surprise it’s ARMS. ARMS not only looks great, plays great and leaves the player feeling great, it is just a title that has taken the fighting genre and made it into something so much more and it is easily going to be the best Switch game that releases next month. That’s how I feel about it anyway.

And now with the end of this edition almost within sight, it is time for me to pick 1 of the 6 games that made it onto my list this month, as a recommendation/must-own/get for Switch game and it is Disgaea 5 Complete. There is just so much to do, so much love went into it and it is just an insanely brilliant game that plays perfectly on Switch as you can take the game with you everywhere! Plus aren’t Prinnies just the best? Sure they say Dood a lot, but they’re so cute and cuddly you can easily forgive them for that. But yes, for the month of May, my Jacktendo Selects title is none other than Disgaea 5 Complete because it really just a fantastic title to play!
