Last week or so, Nintendo announced that Charles Martinet will no longer be voicing Super Mario in future games and will be stepping into a new role as Mario Ambassador. This news came in the form of a statement that was shared on Social Media and also stated that a video featuring words from Charles Martinet and Shigeru Miyamoto will be published soon.
Well, the video has been finally shared on Nintendo’s social media channels as it has Charles talking about stepping into his new role as Mario Ambassador and Shigeru Miyamoto thanking Charles for bring his characters to life and for leaving such an impression on him.

The video itself is quite touching and we wish Charles all the best with his new role, even though we still know very little about what this new role will actually mean for the voice actor. So far, all that has been shared is that Charles will continue to travel around the world to events and bring joy to Mario fans everywhere. This is pretty much what Charles has even doing for years anyway (It’s how we got to meet him in Barcelona back in 2016). Still, I’m sure we will all find out what being a Mario Ambassador entails soon enough.
Thank you again for all the happy memories, Charles, and we hope you will continue to spread joy wherever you go!
