Eight fun little images to look over.
As Niantic’s efforts of promoting Pikmin Bloom continue, they have been sharing a whole host of imagery on Twitter. Some of our tweets of theirs that we’ve seen so far, concerns introductory imagery that shows of the many different Pikmin available in-game and we feel now is as good as any to share these interesting images, whilst including our own detailed explanations covering what Pikmin are, how many different types there are and even talk a little about Decor Pikmin:
What are Pikmin?:
Pikmin are a species described as being half-plant and half-animal, of great intelligence. They are often around 1 inch tall, come in a variety of colours and have three known stages of growth, Leaf, Bud and Flower. In the main series of games, these stages can increase the strength and speed of your Pikmin, but in Pikmin Bloom, although these stages are represented, they can be experienced when feeding Nectar to your companions, changing them from Pikmin with leaves to Pikmin with flowers that you can harvest and then plant whilst off on a walk.
What are the Different Types of Pikmin in Pikmin Bloom?:
All known species consist of:
Introduced in Pikmin aka Pikmin 1:
- Red Pikmin
- Yellow Pikmin
- Blue Pikmin
- Mushroom Pikmin
Introduced in Pikmin 2:
- Purple Pikmin
- White Pikmin
Introduced in Pikmin 3:
- Rock Pikmin
- Winged Pikmin
Introduced in Pikmin Bloom:
- Decor Pikmin (Pikmin Colour is irrelevant)
What Are Decor Pikmin?:
Decor Pikmin are a special kind of Pikmin that can be obtained via Special means, such as a Nintendo Pikmin (a Blue Pikmin wearing a Mario Hat) or by earning them. First you must have regular Pikmin that you have already planted and sprouted. Pikmin in your squad, you can then interact with by feeding them Nectar and sending them off on Expeditions. Doing this will increase their Friendship Level and when you reach the maximum of 4 full Hearts, your besotted Pikmin can be sent off on an Expedition to collect a special gift for you which when collected, can turn them into a Decor Pikmin.

About Pikmin Bloom:
Grow your Pikmin, make flowers bloom, and keep track of your precious memories, all through the simple act of walking. Whether you’re going for a short walk around the corner or commuting to work, today’s the very first day of the rest of your Pikmin adventures! Gather your squad and embark on a journey of rediscovery where every step counts.
Walk to grow more Pikmin – Pikmin grow from seedlings with every step you take. Once they are big enough, pluck them out to have them trail along. The more you walk, the more Pikmin will join your squad!
Walk to make flowers bloom – Collect flower petals from your Pikmin’s heads and plant them as you walk to leave trails of beautiful flowers in bloom everywhere you go.
Walk to log your memories – At the end of the day, check out your step count along with the path you walked, and revisit the pictures you took throughout the day. Don’t forget to send your Pikmin out on expeditions to pick up the fruit and seedlings you passed on your way back home!
Lots of Pikmin to meet – There are seven types of Pikmin in total, and all of them have their own unique characteristics. For example, some can fly, and others are incredibly strong. When your friendship level reaches a certain threshold, your Pikmin may bring back a gift with an item that will help them become a Decor Pikmin.
Tackle challenges with Pikmin – Nearby mushrooms are a great way to get lots of fruit. When you come across mushrooms blocking your path, you can send your trusty Pikmin squad to charge forth and make way.
