Happy Home Paradise

Great change is afoot. Version 2.0.0 is available now for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and so much has changed and that’s before we even factor in the Happy Home Paradise changes as well. So, to celebrate all things Animal Crossing, we’re creating a new series of guides dedicated to the new series of content.

In this particular guide, we’re covering the paid DLC expansion, Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise:

Getting Started with the Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise DLC:

With version 2.0.0 and the brand new Happy Home Paradise out now, a day early no less, the time has come to download the DLC, be it directly via the eShop after making a purchase, or downloading it for free from the Nintendo Switch Online section of the eShop’s menu.

Just as soon as the DLC is downloaded, players are free to boot up the game, only to be greeted by Tom Nook, phoning the player and asking them to come to meet him at Dodo Airlines. Agreeing to his desires, players will be introduced to Lottie, who will recruit players into helping her with a new venture and unlock the means for players to now “Go to Work” by using Dodo Airlines to fly to a new region of islands and no, you will not need to pay for the privilege.

By flying out, players will then be introduced to Niko, who will then invite you into a house where Lottie and Wardell can be found, or you can explore the island quickly to discover new kinds of collectables.

When you do choose to see Lottie, she will introduce you to every member of her little Paradise Planning initiative and will encourage you to get changed into your brand new uniform, which can be found in your very own locker on the second floor of her house. After changing into it, Niko will help to bring in your first client and after you and Lottie listen to everything the client expects from her holiday home, it’s down to you to make their dream a reality.

Niko and you will leave for the island the client has picked out for themselves and upon heading inside, after a quick chat, players are free to commence decorating in a similar fashion to how they decorated their rooms in their own home. One difference, however, is that players will be able to also choose items from an Order menu, which is full of items that cover items specifically requested by the client and others that match up with their preferred theme.

Once you have finished decorating, the client will take in their new home and then shortly after a fun little cutscene, players will receive their first payment from Lottie, paid in Poki, a regional currency that is only valid in this new region.

As always, we hope you found this guide helpful. We will be actively adding to this list and you guys are more than welcome to submit some yourselves if you would like to. For further assistance is required, perhaps you should check out our other guides on Animal Crossing: New Horizons:
