Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Zelda You: Our Stories, our now bi-weekly regular feature series that is all about two things, our love for Zelda and our love for talking about Zelda. We already kicked the series off with staff stories, but now that the Miketendo64 staff have had their say, we’re sharing the stories that You have sent in to us, so what are we waiting for? It’s time to begin!
Today’s first and only story comes from Ben Stanley, a Zelda fan born from the Nintendo Wii generation.
Ben Stanley: -Twilight Princess is Awesome!:
“Whenever I think of Zelda, I think of Link, the would-be hero thrust on a journey to save his friends, with help in the form of Midna. Twilight Princess was not only the first ever Zelda game I played on my Nintendo Wii, but also the first Zelda game I played. Naturally it got me hooked on the series and I have played other games in the series, but Twilight Princess is now and always will be my personal favourite.
I can understand why so many love Ocarina of Time, because it truly is one heck of a game but it’s not Twilight Princess and where Navigation is annoying, Midna is awesome and Link can turn into a Wolf, not by choice at first but later on he can and running around Hyrule, talking to other animals as a black beast is the best!!!
But Wolf Link does have me worried though. I know you have to use the Wolf Link amiibo in Breath of the Wild to get the Wolf to accompany you and hunt with you, but it just feels so forced. Link having no companion is pretty sweet but then they go and make this as the companion option without is weird. I know it has nothing to do with the story but in-game bonus or not, I want a reason as to how there can be two Links in one game. That said though, I’m not going to let that stop me from hanging out with man’s best friend. Mr Sniffles and I have some hunting to do and Squirrels to chase. But all that has to wait until the game comes out first.
But I totally love Zelda now and all home console games since Ocarina of Time are among my favourites, (I cheated and played the 3D version of Majora’s Mask, but it still counts right?) And you might hate me for saying this but Skyward Sword is my second favourite. Loftwings are just such amazing, incredible creatures. Link should ditch the horses and use these more often but it will never happen. At least not for a while. I really should play Skyward Sword again, it’s been a while. I hope there is a HD remaster but with the motion controls intact. Be too weird if they weren’t present.
So yeah, my story began with Twilight Princess when I was 10 and next year it will continue with Breath of the Wild. Fingers crossed it will come out in March and I can get my parents to buy it for me as a present for when I turn 17. Might even be able to get some amiibo out of it too. So thanks for listening to me and bye!”
We would like to take this moment to thank Ben for sharing his story with us and if you would like to take a Deku leaf out of his book and do the same, then listen up because we revised the submission process to make it a much simpler experience. For those willing to put their story/experience forth and be credited for it, along with any photos you wish to send in as well, be sure to visit our Facebook Page Miketendo64 and send us a direct message. Or should you prefer a more direct route, you can send us an email at: miketendo64@gmail.com. We wish to have this series run for as long as possible, so there is no limit to the number of stories you can send in to us and nor is there a closing date for submissions, so what are you waiting for? Get in touch and leave your mark on the series today!
This has been Issue #3 of Zelda You: Our Stories, we hope you enjoyed it and encourage you to come back two weeks from now (July 10th 2016,) for the next instalment!
Great story Ben! Thanks for sharing!
