Pokémon Scarlet / Pokémon Violet

The latest Nintendo financial results have been published and with that, we get an updated look at the most current sales for Nintendo Switch titles. As you may imagine, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still reigning supreme with 52 million units sold. Animal Crossing: New Horizons follows behind at 41.59 million and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sits at 30.44 million.

As for 2022’s release of games, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet have sold an impressive 20.61 million in just seven weeks of its launch and is the first game(s) to make it into the Top 10 Million Sellers list in a while. As the sales numbers are updated on December 31, 2022, there is every possibility that it has outsold or very close to Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield sales numbers which are currently at 25.68 million. Splatoon 3 is going steady at 10.13 million units and is just a little behind Splatoon 2’s own sales of 13,3 million (as reported March 2022). Kirby and the Forgotten Land has sold a respectable 6,12 million which puts it ahead of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (1.81 million) and Bayonetta 3 (1.04 million).
