We at Miketendo64 are extremely happy to announce that the Nintendo Switch has sold over 10 million units worldwide. This is incredible as it only launched in March and in only 9 months, it has surpassed over two thirds of the Wii U’s lifetime sales.
This is extremely good news especially for the wellbeing of Nintendo as as company and it really does look like the Big N is bouncing back.
Here is what Nintendo Of Europe President Shitoru Shibata had to say.
“We are thrilled that fans all across Europe and around the world are enjoying the gameplay experiences that only Nintendo Switch can offer, whether it be the newest adventures with Super Mario and Link, or unique games such as 1-2-Switch, where players look at each other and not the screen.”
Though I don’t think the Switch will reach sales like the Wii which is well above 100 million units, I do believe that it could surpass Gamecube sales within the next year just as long as Nintendo can keep knocking out great 1st party titles and maintain support from 3rd parties.
