Happy MARIO Day everyone! Get some friends round and break out your favourite Mario games as March 10th is the perfect day to celebrate the world’s most famous plumber. Speaking of celebrations, Nintendo are currently holding a digital sale on select games featuring Mario and friends on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
The sale is running from March 7th until March 17th with discounts from 33-67% off. Granted, the first party games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Party Superstars, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Yoshi’s Crafted World are on sale with 33% off and the Mario + Rabbids Titles on sale at around 65% off.

MAR10 Day 2024 Video
Its not just sales we have to look forward to today. Nintendo has also released a special video earlier today with Shigeru Miyamoto announcing that a sequel for Super Mario Bros. Movie is in the works. A few words were also shared by Chris Meledandri of Illumination, who stated that animation for the sequel will be starting soon as artists have been hard at work storyboarding scenes and set designs, along with announcing a release date aiming for April 2026.
That wasn’t the only thing that was shared during the MAR10 Day 2024 video, either. Release dates for Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD were also shared. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door has been given a May 23rd, 2024 release and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will be releasing about a month after that on June 27th, 2024.
Lastly, three more games will be added to the Game Boy – Nintendo Switch Online service in the form of Dr. Mario, Mario Golf, and Mario Tennis. You won’t have to wait long for them either as they will be available in a couple of days’ time on March 12th, 2024.
More LEGO MARIO Time!
With Nintendo having a rather solid partneship with LEGO at the moment, even more LEGO Super Mario sets have been announced, three of them to be precise with one for for LEGO Mario, LEGO Luigi, and LEGO Peach. There is The Bowser Express Train, King Boo’s Haunted Mansion, and Battle With Roy at Peach’s Castle (each link will take you to a page on our website where you can find more information on each set and include a photo gallery). The sets will be available come August 1st and offer even more ways to play with LEGO Super Mario and friends.
If you think that LEGO may be slowing down with ideas for the LEGO Mario sets, you may be surprised as they are not quite done and have teased an all-new set coming in 2025. Very little was shown of the upcoming set but a silhoette of a kart and the words MARIO KART. It’s safe to say that LEGO Mario will be taking to the race track next year with his very own LEGO Mario Kart. Wahoo!
Well, that wraps up the main news and announcements for MAR10 Day, I am going to shoot off now and play some Super Mario Bros. Wonder, or Super Mario Odyssey. Or perhaps Mario Vs. Donkey Kong? Oh well, I’ll just have to play them all.
