Updates and support had pretty much dried up for Super Mario Maker 2 but completely out of nowhere, it has received a new Ninji Speedrun event. The Ninji Speedrun event was in commemoration of the launch of the Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda and is themed around the Master Sword Power-up in the game that turns Mario and friends into the legendary hero, Link.
A new Ninji Speedrun course is here for a special occasion! To celebrate the launch of Game & Watch: The Legend of #Zelda, a special course, “Link’s Lightweight Longshots”, is available now in #SuperMarioMaker2 until 11/21 6pm PT.

The event course is called “Link’s Lightweight Longshots” and by using the bow and arrow, you must shoot all the POW blocks in order to reach the goal. The event is available now and will run for nine days. From the time of publishing this article, I managed to get a speedrun time of 0:52.501 seconds but the top speedruns are somehow under 30 seconds!
If you want, you can check out one of our own speedruns of the course in the video below. It may even give you a few pointers on what you need to do (or rather what you shouldn’t do).
