Welcome to Switch History, the feature series dedicated to rounding up the software updates for some of Nintendo’s biggest Switch games. In today’s piece, we’re highlighting the updates for 2017’s Pokkén Tournament DX:

Update History:

Ver. 1.3.3 (Released September 25, 2018):

  • Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.
  • Adjustments have been made to some Pokémon and attacks.

LucarioGrab Attack (Field Phase)Fixed the issue causing a shortened stun duration when hitting Croagunk or Blastoise with a grab attack.

Pikachu LibreWeak Attack ~ Strong Attack Follow-up: Additional Attack. Stance Strong Attack: Additional AttackWe’ve made the inputs for additional attacks easier. In addition, if the inputs are completed with good timing, you will receive a power up.
Pikachu LibreJumping Ranged AttackWe have extended the reach of the second attack.
Pikachu LibreWild Charge (Enhanced)Fixed the issue causing low attacks to be blocked until the enhancement wears off. We also fixed the issue causing the midair timing to be slower than the regular version of Wild Charge.
SeptileLeaf Blade (Duel Phase)Increased the stun duration for critical hits.
SeptileLeaf StormFixed the issue causing players to be unable to perform a recovery after being struck in midair under certain conditions.
Shadow MewtwoStrong AttackIncreased the stun duration for critical hits.

Shadow MewtwoGrab Attack (Duel Phase)We changed it so that the thunder would fade when a grab attack is performed at close range.
DarkraiNightmareFixed the issue causing Darkrai to double-jump even when not under the positive status “Additional Jumps”.
CroagunkPoison JabFixed the issue keeping status effects from taking effect on a hit.
CroagunkThiefFixed the issue keeping Croagunk from stealing Synergy Gauge or positive statuses from his opponent on a hit.
CroagunkGunk Shot (Large Rock, Duel Phase)Fixed the issue causing Croagunk to move in the opposite direction when he attacks with a large rock.
EmpoleonBackward Strong AttackIncreased basic damage.

DecidueyeFix AcrobaticsFixed the issue causing Decidueye to turn around after activating Acrobatics.

Ver. 1.3.2 (Released July 10, 2018):

  • This version contains different adjustments for the Pokémon, including the addition of some brand-new actions.
  • Other adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.

Ver. 1.3.1 (Released May 15, 2018):

  • This distribution has adjusted the balance of some of the Pokémon added from Ver. 1.2.0 onward.
  • Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.

Ver. 1.3.0 (Released March 22, 2018):

  • Pokkén Tournament DX Battle Pack Wave 2 compatibility has been added.

Ver. 1.2.0 (Released January 30, 2018):

  • Pokkén Tournament DX Battle Pack Wave 1 compatibility has been added.
  • Video capture compatibility added. Hold the Capture Button to capture up to 30 seconds of the previous footage.
    • The system must be updated to Ver 4.0.0 or higher to use this feature.

Ver. 1.1.0 (Released November 14, 2017)

  • Players can now participate in online Team Battles.
  • A recording feature has been added to Free Training in Practice Mode.
  • Players can get special titles based on their ranking in Official Group Matches.
    • Official Group Matches are groups held officially for Pokkén Tournament DX. Rewards are only available for certain Official Group Matches.
  • It is now possible to change how battle records are displayed.
  • Battle records will be displayed when players enter a group.
  • Team Battles are now available in Event Mode
  • Adjustments have been made to some Pokémon and attacks.

All Battle PokémonSystemFixed an issue that caused Support Pokémon to be called and Synergy Burst to be activated simultaneously when players press L and R while being hit with an attack that does not cause hit stun.
All Battle PokémonDouble JumpFixed an issue where players couldn’t double jump diagonally after certain actions in Field Phase. Fixed an issue where players couldn’t double jump while affected by a positive status increasing their number of jumps.
LucarioForward Weak AttackFixed an issue that allowed Lucario to move during a Burst Attack’s animation when hit by a Burst Attack with specific timing.
MachampBurst AttackFixed an issue that allowed opponents to move during its Burst Attack’s animation.
SuicineAurora BeamFixed an issue where an Aurora Beam to the left or right couldn’t be used from a canceled Ranged Attack.
GengarPermeateFixed an issue that allowed players to use Permeate again after using Permeate, double jumping, and then using a Jumping Ranged Attack.
ChandelureOverheatFixed an issue where Chandelure did not turn black when affected by a negative status when its action was interrupted by an opponent’s attack.
ChandelureForward Strong Attack (Synergy Burst active)Fixed an issue that caused its stats to change after using Burst Attack.
GarchompDragon Claw (Field Phase)Fixed an issue where players couldn’t transition to Running Stance when canceling a Ranged Attack into this move.
EmpoleonGrab attack (Duel Phase)Fixed an issue where some attacks would combo after a Phase Shift.
ScizorMetal ClawFixed an issue where some attacks would combo after a Phase Shift.
ScizorBug Bite to dash stepFixed an issue where Duel Phase moves could be used after a Phase Shift.
DecidueyeRazor Leaf to Soaring Stance to dash stepFixed an issue where players could double jump even if they were not affected by a positive status increasing Decidueye’s number of jumps.
DecidueyeSoaring StanceFixed an issue where players temporarily lost control of the Pokémon after it was hit by an attack with specific timing.
DecidueyeSoaring Stance to Strong AttackFixed an issue where when only the first hit connected, opponents were unable to move even after the hit stun had finished.

Ver. 1.0.1 (Released September 21, 2017):

  • Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.
