Doom 64 is making its way to Nintendo Switch and consoles on March 20th. It has been revealed that the game will contain a new Chapter that can be played after beating the new campaign. Upon beating the Mother Demon in the final level, her sister will send you away. If you make it back to the sister and defeat her, you will uncover new lore from the series.
This information was revealed by Senior Developer James Haley during an interview with USGamer. We have a snippet below.
“On our end, persistent players will have the opportunity to unlock a new chapter in the Doomguy’s saga, taking place shortly after [Doom 64’s] original campaign concludes. The Mother Demon you defeated in that outing had a sister, and since you’ve been messing up Hell non-stop, she tries to get rid of you by sending you away. If you can make your way back and take revenge, you’ll be rewarded with a bit of lore that fans of both series, new and classic, should enjoy.”
While Doom Eternal is not quite releasing on Nintendo Switch yet, will you be picking up Doom 64 instead or will the temptation of Animal Crossing: New Horizons be too much to pass up? Let us know in the comments below.
We would also like to thank The Nintendo Village for bringing this news to our attention.DOOM, Doom 64, Gaming, id Software, Nintendo, Nintendo Switch, USGamer, videogames
