The Nintendo Switch is a great little system but it still feels like it is lacking a lot of features that we have grown accostumed to on other devices, notably streaming apps. Though NicoNico is available as an app for the Switch in Japan and Hulu is available in North America, these are restricted to the region they are accessible in. Netflix would seem like the next obvious choice to come to the Nintendo System but it doesn’t look like that will be happening for a while. Twitter user @NintendoScreenz asked Netflix Customer Service via Twitter if Netflix would be coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point as demand is high and are “Eagerly awaiting launch.” The @Netflixhelps account responded that “There are no plans for Netflix on Nintendo Switch.”

While it may look like Netflix may not be coming to the Nintendo Switch in the near future, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be a red herring to try and lure us away from the truth that Netflix may well be coming to the Switch at some point. With over 10 million consoles sold, The Switch is hot property right now and with a nice comfortable screen to watch films and TV on as well as play games obviously, Netflix would be mad not to try bring an app to it. I half suspect this may be Nintendo’s doing as they have yet to bring a proper internet browser to the system and other third party apps.
