Pikachu, I choose you!

Within 24 hours of learning that the Detective Pikachu game for 3DS, has received a rating by PEGI for Europe, we have now been graced with news pertaining the film version. Despite the fact that filming has yet to even begin and the casting of Justice Smith as Tim Goodman, Kathryn Newton as Lucy and Ryan Reynolds as the voice of Pikachu, has only just been finalised, a release date has been issued for the upcoming Legendary Entertainment film.

Should all go as planned and the movie makes its May 10th release in 2019, it will do so after the release of a currently unnamed Avengers film by Disney, so to say it will have some stiff competition would be an understatement, but then, it wouldn’t be the first time Pikachu has beaten a much more powerful and intimidating foe. After all, Pikachu is one of the most beloved Pokémon of all time, so if anyone could make a movie sell better than an Avengers film, it’s a Ryan Reynolds Pikachu! (we hope!)
