A new update for Pokémon GO is rolling out this very minute but don’t go getting your hopes up.

 

With Trading and Revised Gym Battles not due to be implemented any time soon, as far as this update goes, we have to settle for more text fixes and a random evolution item given as a reward for visiting PokéStops for 7 days in a row. Here’s the announcement from Niantic:

Pokémon GO updated to version 0.59.1 for Android and 1.29.1 for iOS:

Pokémon GO is in the process of being updated to version 0.59.1 for Android and 1.29.1 for iOS devices. Below are some release notes and comments from our development team.

 

  • The 7-day ‘First PokéStop of the Day’ streak will now award a random Evolution item.
  • Minor text fixes.
