The C Series begins as dual-type Pokémon make their debut in the mobile game!
The Pokémon Company has confirmed the next major expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket. Titled Dual Fusion (C1), the set marks the official start of the C Series and will launch worldwide on October 28, 2026 at 18:00 PDT (October 29, 2026 at 01:00 UK time).
The biggest change arriving with this expansion is the introduction of dual-type cards. For the first time in the mobile game, certain Pokémon will carry two types at once. Confirmed examples so far include Mega Mewtwo X ex, which is both Psychic and Fighting, and Mega Greninja ex, which is Water and Darkness.
These new dual-type cards are expected to open up fresh strategies and deck-building options that were not previously possible.Several other cards have already been shown in the official trailer and press materials. These include new versions of Pikachu ex, Mew ex, Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Mega Dragonite ex and more. The set arrives just as Pokémon TCG Pocket approaches its second anniversary, giving the expansion extra weight for both collectors and competitive players.
In addition to the main booster packs, a new type of pack called Special Pack: First Partners will become available from October 31, 2026 through to December 26, 2026. These packs use a separate weekly stamina system and are guaranteed to contain at least one ★ card. They focus on the first partner Pokémon from each of the nine regions, offering a different collecting experience alongside the regular Dual Fusion packs.
The announcement also confirms that the overall release schedule for future expansions is changing. Instead of the previous roughly four-week cycle, new sets will now arrive approximately every six weeks. This should give players more time to collect cards from each expansion before the next one arrives.
Dual Fusion is the clearest signal yet that Pokémon TCG Pocket is entering a new phase. Dual-type cards, a longer release cycle and the introduction of Special Packs all point to meaningful changes designed to keep the game feeling fresh while reducing the pressure of constant new releases. Full card lists and further details are expected to be filled in over the coming days as we get closer to launch.
