First we get the news that XSEED will be the publisher behind Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, but now WayForward, (the developers of the Shantae series) have gone one better and have publically come out on Twitter to announce its release date!
Looky what just went up for pre-order at GameStop — and with a release date, no less!!https://t.co/ExqjFwANnA pic.twitter.com/HH6aaL8ScX

It’s not just the physical version of the game coming out on the 27th of September, but the digital version as well, but let’s be honest, as far as Shantae goes, a physical version is the only version we want to purchase the game in. We want the box the disc comes in, complete with boxart. Except this physical edition goes one step further as it is the special Risky Beats version that comes with a CD containing 20 songs taken from the game itself. Plus because it’s up on GameStop now for pre-order, there is a boxart for us to admire, albeit it isn’t the final product, but it’s something.
For anyone looking to learn more about Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, be sure to pay attention to E3, as there will be a playable demo and the prospect of a reveal or two.

So happy to see this get a physical release. I loved Pirate’s Curse and have had my tabs on this since its announcement.
