From strength to strength.
If you have been playing Resident Evil Requiem, you may be interested to know that the survival horror game has reached another new milestone today. Aside from being one of the best games of 2026 and the fastest-selling in the US for 2026, it has also made record-breaking sales for the series, Capcom has revealed.
In a recently issued statement on the official Capcom website, it was stated that the latest entry in the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Requiem, has surpassed six million copies sold worldwide. This is quite an achievement for the game as it was only released on February 27th of this year, and to reach such numbers in less than a month is remarkable. Capcom also goes on to mention that it is the fastest-selling entry in the Resident Evil series to date.
Previously, in a video with the game’s director, Nakanishi, who thanked the fans as the game was very well received, announced that a new minigame will be added to Resident Evil Requiem and that a story expansion DLC is in development as well. This is great news for fans and for us, as it means we can enjoy this incredible game a little longer, although we will have quite a wait before the story DLC is finished and released.
Still, that gives us plenty of time to do another run or two. Should I do a casual speedrun, or go hard with Insanity Mode? I still have a good number of challenges to clear up as well, so I don’t think I will be putting the game down anytime soon. How about you? Have you been enjoying the game?
