With The Legend of Zelda live-action movie due to debut in cinemas on May 7, 2027, today Shigeru Miyamoto took to X to reveal the two actors that have been cast to play Link and Zelda in the upcoming film. Securing the role of Link is English actor, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth,  born 25 September 2008. He played Miles in 2020’s The Haunting of Bly Manor and, more recently, was the voice of Pinocchio in the 2022 live-action remake.

As for the actress portraying Princess Zelda herself, it is none other than English actress, Bo Bragason. Born in 2004, Bo Bragason’s recent credits include Clara Radley in 2024’s The Radleys, Roxy Jackson in Renegade Nell and Amy Knightly in The Jetty.

For Miyamoto’s full comments in revealing Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, we have them here:

“This is Miyamoto. I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san. I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen.

The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 7, 2027. Thank you for your patience.”
