Hero Mode activated.

With a demo of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, playable at PAX West, all manner of details have started to come in regarding the game’s map, and the game’s difficulty setting. While players had to wait fot Hero Mode to be added to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it has been discovered that Hero difficulty for the Echoes of Wisdom demo is available from the outset. But more importantly, players who choose to undertake this harder setting intended for “Advanced Players,” should at any point they find it to hard, they can swap back to Normal difficulty at any time.

As for what this “Hero Mode” has to offer this time around, according to a photo taken of Hero Mode’s description, it sees players take twice as much damage, with no chance of hearts being dropped. Furthermore, some “accessory effects” will not be applied when used.

With The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom set to release on September 26, 2024 it is only a matter of time before we learn if this difficulty swap option is available in the full game as well, or limited only to the demo.

About The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom:

Save the kingdom of Hyrule – this time with the wisdom of Princess Zelda – in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for Nintendo Switch – The people of Hyrule are being stolen away by strange rifts that have appeared, and with a certain swordsman among those missing, it’s up to Princess Zelda to save her kingdom.

Team up with the mysterious fairy, Tri, and use the power of the Tri Rod to learn how to create echoes, imitations of things found in the environment. You can then recreate those echoes whenever you like to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.

Create echoes like water blocks to reach new heights, make bridges out of old beds, throw rocks at foes, or find your own creative combination of echoes to do things your way. You can even create echoes of monsters to fight at your side in combat!
