Welcome back to another M64 Latest, giving you a brief recap of news from the world of Nintendo as well as some personal insight into the happenings here at Miketendo64.
We have some more video game news to share with you all including New spirits coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this week.
M64 Latest News: More Games Inbound For Switch
So, starting off for today is the announcement for a brand new spirit event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
For the first time in literal years, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting a brand new spirit event based on some of the top first party games to release on Nintendo switch in 2022 and 2023. The spirits will be based on characters from games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Splatoon 3, and pikmin 4.
The Spirit event will run for five days starting on January 11th. Battling these new spirits won’t only add them to your collection (providing you beat them and catch them first), you will also earn more gold than usual too.
I an so glad that Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting a new lease of life even if briefly as it gives me reason to jump back into it again.

M64 Latest: Two New EXPlays Now Live
On the Miketendo64 front, we have published two more Explain & Play reviews this week. One is for Electrician Simulator which I managed to write and publish over the weekend and the other is Make Way, which was written by Jonathan Ober.
I know it’s usually Jonathan that pens a lot of our Simulator related EXPlays but I couldn’t help but try out Electrician Simulator myself seing as I am learning to become an electrician myself. As for Make Way, it takes the Micro Machines “top-down” racer mechanic and shakes it up in a way that younhave to create your own path forward (literally) while you race.
