Hey everyone, welcome back to another M64 Latest. Today we will look at some of the latest news of the day as well as a personal update as to what we have planned for Miketendo64. Now, news has been a little light today and as we are not in the habit of covering rumors, we won’t be discussing the Switch 2 rumor about the next console being an iteration of the Switch as opposed to a ” complete revolution” that is currently doing the rounds. Whether it is possibly true or not, We shall wait for some official announcement from Nintendo before we jump on the band wagon.
So today, we are going to talk about some internal news of what we have coming to Miketendo64 over the coming days and some personal progress with games I am playing.
Starting The Year Right
As I said in the last update, I am jumping back into Ring Fit Adventure as part of my New Year’s resolution to get fitter. I have made a start yesterday and was gasping for air just for doing the dynamic stretching. However, I was motivated and decided to play the game for an hour or so.
I played through a few of the stages in the adventure portion of the game and wrapped up some of the minigames in earlier worlds that I missed during my last playthorugh. A lot of the exercises in the minigames focused on squats, abdominal workouts and a lot of getting down on the ground and getting back up again. When I had finished playing, I supposedly burned 200 kCal in about 22 minutes. I guess playing the minigames doesn’t count towards the time as I had played for at least an hour from booting up the game to turning it off.
Still, I am feeling the effects of the workout today with every muscle aching in my body and my thighs hurting when going downstairs. I didn’t play any Ring Fit Adventure today but I did go for a long walk instead for some light exercise so that I could rest my muscles and boot up the game again tomorrow.
Make Way For Our Upcoming EXPlays
Now, I can’t talk about exact specifics due to NDAs and embargoes but I can talk about some games that have had embargoes lifted or have been available on Nintendo Switch for some time. Our reviewer Jonathan Ober has a couple of EXPlays on the way with Passpartout 2 and Make Way. You should see them them appear on the website over the next few days or so when I have time to go over them and publish them. We also aim to have an EXPlay for Another Code Recollection sometime towards the end of the month, should things go to plan. We don’t have a code for that yet but should be on the list to receive one come launch.
As for me personally, I have a couple of EXPlays in the pipeline myself to write and publish. One game is Full Quiet by 8-Bit Legit, a cryptic 2D sidescrolling adventure, and the other I can’t talk about but I will have its coverage posted this Friday when the Embargo lifts. What I can say is if you are a fan of retro fps shooters and Spy Film Spoofs, you may want to check back this Friday.
Lastly, Jack has recently published his review for The Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. If you have yet to dive into the DLC for yourself or haven’t picked it up yet, be sure to check the review as it is quite in-depth and looks into a good number of the DLC’s features and the game’s story.
