The wait is over! The Super Mario RPG remake is available now on the Nintendo Switch, the time has come to set out on a familiar quest, but now noticeable improvements. One such improvement being that where was in the SNES version of the game, there were Hidden Treasures that could be missed, in the Switch version, players will get another chance to grab them and we’re taking the time go over the location of each Hidden Treasure and the means in how to find them:
What are Hidden Treasures & How to Find them?
Hidden Treasures are floating treasure chests that are invisible to the naked eye. Their contents can vary, but as long as players visit the shop in the Mushroom Kingdom and go downstairs to the basement, you can speak to an NPC to be given the Signal Ring. With this accessory equipped to one of your characters, you will be notified as to when a Hidden Treasure is in the nearby area. Once notified, it is simply a case of finding it.
When you make it as far as Nimbus Land, however, Croco can drop the Echo Signal Ring, which is even more useful in tracking down the illusive Hidden Chests.
How Many Hidden Treasures are There?
Super Mario RPGhas a total of 39 Hidden Treasures for players to discover.
Is there a Reward for Finding All Hidden Treasures?
Other than the actual contents of each Hidden Treasure, there is no reward whatsoever for finding every Hidden Treasure.
Is there a Way to Keep Track of How Many Hidden Treasures I’ve Found?
Super Mario RPG has two methods for keeping track of how many Hidden Treasures you have found. The first is an NPC in Monstro Town, who when you speak to them, will tell you how many more you have left to find. As for the second way, when you beat the game, you will unlock a Play Report. In addition to keeping tabs on everything there is to do in the game, the Play Report will inform you of the number of Hidden Treasures you have found.
