Update (July 11, 2021): Razewing Ratha Spirit information updated.

That’s the Spirit!

Instead of copying earlier instalments, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate did away with trophies and instead introduced a Spirit system, collectable power-ups that can be strengthened, enhanced and added to your favourite fighters for certain game modes. One mode being the World of Light campaign and undertaking battles as part of the game’s Spirit Board.

There are many ways for players to earn new Spirits and since the game’s December 7, 2018 release, more Spirits have been added to the game as part of timed events, DLC and special presents. Unlike the DLC spirits, which can only be contained via purchasing the associated fighter pack and/or season pass, spirits that are available from timed events and special presents, are often added to the base game months down the line, so those who missed out on them previously can obtain them later on.

Unlike timed event spirits, however, special present spirits are not something that can only be obtained with just playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Instead, players actually need to play other video games and possess save data on their current Switch system, for very specific games, in order to obtain special spirits in Smash.

For a long time now, there were only three special spirits available via the method specified above, but as of the Version 11.0.0 update available now, there is now a total of five to obtain, with an overall total of 1467 spirits obtainable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and we’ll be providing full details on those five, as part of this guide.
