Dutch the 79th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders at Nintendo Japan earlier today, a question arose as to when software from consoles like the Nintendo 64 and GameCube would be resurfacing. Nintendo stated that they are looking to extend the Nintendo Switch Online service.

We have a translation of the statement below, courtesy of BlackKite for the translation and NStyles for the Transcript.

“At this place we cannot tell new information about future classic hardware among others, but we are thinking about providing an extension of the online service which is currently providing Famicom [NES] software, as well other methods of providing them. We also recognise that there are opinions wanting to play past titles.”

Thank you Japanese Nintendo for bringing it to our attention.
