Albeit the Switch release of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxeis a deluxe port of the New Super Mario Bros. U game that initially released on the Nintendo Wii U, on November 18, 2012, for those who didn’t pick up the game (or a Wii U for that matter,) it’s still the latest instalment for a beloved video game series.
So, on that line of thinking, since this is a game that can be played with 1-4 players, to prepare you for the upcoming release, we thought we’d prepare a little introductory guide, compiled of officially released information, pertaining to the characters (including Peachette) that you can look forward to playing play as, Let’s begin!
Mario:
An intrepid hero who’s always ready for action, Mario’s an all-around platforming superstar.
Luigi:
A bit anxious, but brave when he needs to be.
Toad: (Yellow & Blue)
A stalwart resident of the Mushroom Kingdom, Toad’s always happy to lend a hand to his friends.
*To change to Blue Toad, press L or ZL on the select screen.
*NEW! Toadette/Peachette: (Great for beginners!)
With the help of a Super Crown, Toadette can magically transform into the super-powered Peachette, double-jumping and floating over obstacles with ease.
Nabbit: (Great for beginners!)
Enemies never seem to notice this sticky-fingered thief, who can sneak past the bad guys to snag items, which he stuffs into his sack!
In addition to the imagery and details above, Nintendo has also shared two small character clips, which you can see here:
There is also a sixth playable character that comes in the form of the player’s desired Mii, only this character can not be used un the main game and a separate for him, can be seen here.
As always, we hope you found this introductory guide helpful and hope you’re as excited about this Switch release as we are!
In 2015, when rumours of the NX and Zelda U were everywhere, my brother and I started Miketendo64 and we've been running it ever since. As the Editor-in-Chief, I have attended video gaming events in three different countries, been to preview events, and penned more than 4,000 articles to date, ranging from news, to features, reviews, interviews and guides. I love gaming and I love all things Nintendo. I also love Networking, so don't be afaid to reach out.
