The Mobile App and worldwide sensation that is Pokémon GO has been downloaded over 650 million times. This was announced by Niantic Labs during Google Developer Day at GDC 2017 (Game Developers Conference).

The numbers, as high as they are have slackened somewhat seeing that Niantic had stated that they reached just under 500 million last September, just two month after launch so the app has only gained another 150 million since but it is still quite an astounding feat nonetheless.

It is worth that this figure is only how many times it has been downloaded, that doesn’t necessarily mean that there are 650 million people still playing it though the latest update that has included 80 new Pokémon from Gen 2 may have coaxed a fair few that had put the game down for a while.
