Nintendo’s Newest Console The Nintendo Switch may have gathered a lot on interest from the public with many ready to leave their Wii U to gather dust in a cardboard box or even occupy space in a trash can but Nintendo are not ready to lay the Nintendo 3DS to rest just yet.

During a Press Conference, President Tatsumi Kimishima stated that the Nintendo Switch and the 3DS are entirely different and that Nintendo will continue to develop software for the 3DS. It is also worth noting that the Nintendo 3DS has sold over 60 million units worldwide which is an extremely large fanbase that Nintendo would be insane to turn it’s back on.

2017 has a healthy string of releases coming for the 3DS including Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World, Mario Sports Superstars, Ever Oasis, Pikmin and  Dragon Quest VIII. It is not known what may be on the cards for the 3DS after this but one thing is for certain, the Wii U will not be getting this treatment what with Nintendo pulling out of Developing games on the Wii U in order to get cracking on with the Development of games for the Nintendo Switch.
