*UPDATE (11/08/16): More and more photos continue to pop up on the internet of other new things we can expect to see during tomorrow’s reveal, so the additional new information has been added here and there through-out the article.
Ahead of Friday’s release of new information and trailer, images relating to what we can expect to see have leaked online. Among the new information, which comes with English names for Yowashi & Namakobushi, reveals new Pokémon, but we also get a good look at Alolan Raichu! And then there’s Wishiwashi who has both a Solo and School Form and it makes all the difference.
New Pokémon:
- Morelull is a Grass/Fairy-type and can know the abilities Illuminate & Effect Spore
- Pyukumuku (Namakobushi) is a Water-type with the Innards Out ability
- Wishiwashi (Yowashi) is a Water-type with the Schooling ability
Alolan Pokemon:
- Alolan Marowak is a Fire/Ghost-type and can know the abilities Cursed Body & Lightning Rod
- Alolan Meowth is a Dark-type and can know the abilities Pick-up & Technician
- Alolan Raichu is an Electric/Psychic-type with the ability of Surge Surfer
Serebii points out that as of right now, the leak IS unverified, but now that there is footage making its way online, so all of the above information is looking more and more likely and thanks to Carfer97OPokémon we’ve actually got some footage we can share, which shows of Wishiwashi using its Schooling ability once it’s reached a certain level.
Now as far as other leaked information goes,(which previously included an image of Team Skull’s Big Sister, Plumeria,) there’s now also images of Team Skull’s Grunts (Team Skull will be keeping the same name as the Japanese versions,) the Team Skull insignia and a look at Guzma, the Big Boss of Team Skull.
So since all this is becoming more credible by the minute, (what with over half of the information going hand in hand with what was leaked via recent CoroCoro scans,) what do you make of Alolan Raichu? And what about the typing? Psychic is certainly an interesting direction, but if this is what Alolan Raichu looks like this, what about Alolan Pikachu? Personally, I’m not fussed about the appearance, but I am somewhat disappointed with the Psychic typing. Why? You might wonder, well this would have been a great time to make Pikachu and Raichu, Electric/Water-type Pokémon and make them able to surf once more, what with them being in the Alola Region, which is based on Hawaii where some of the world’s best surfing can be found, but that’s just me.
