Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Zelda You: Our Stories, our now bi-weekly regular feature series that is all about two things, our love for Zelda and our love for talking about Zelda. We already kicked the series off with staff stories, but now that the Miketendo64 staff have had their say, we’re sharing the stories that You have sent in to us, so what are we waiting for? It’s time to begin!

Today’s first and only story comes from Joshua Browning, a Zelda fan from the day he first played Link’s Awakening.

Joshua Browning: -Link’s Awakening Needs to be Remade!

“The first ever Zelda game I played was Link’s Awakening and to this day, there has not been a better Zelda game. I know a lot of people would say Ocarina is better, or event Twilight Princess, but you’re wrong. Link’s Awakening is the greatest game there is and not even Breath of the Wild could take the crown Awakening has worn for over two decades.

In a lot of ways, it is the Majora’s Mask before there was a Majora’s Mask, except instead of Malon, it’s got Marin and I have got to say I am very disappointed Nintendo never thought to include her in another Zelda game, because instead they decided to take Marin and her father and make them into Malon and her father and then didn’t even have the decency to put them into Twilight Princess because their they ripped-off the two characters ago and did Ilia and Bo.

Now I like some others heard about the rumours of a Link’s Awakening remake or remaster in the works and I was really hoping that was the case, because although we had Link’s Awakening DX years back, Nintendo really need to let us revisit Koholint Island and wake the Wind Fish once more. It is a game that needs to make a comeback, not Twilight Princess HD and not a Skyward Sword HD. Just give us Link’s Awakening HD, or 3D, but just give it to us already. The game has the best story going and I would love to see it make a comeback because it needs to.

I know Hyrule Warriors Legends has recently given Marin a 3D look and another chance at adventure, but the map isn’t Link’s Awakening, just a poor imitation and just in case you’re wondering, I’d actually prefer Link’s Awakening to make a return than play Breath of the Wild, but that’s what I’ve got to say about all of this and er, thanks for letting me have this rant.”

We would like to take this moment to thank Joshua for sharing his “rant” with us and if you would like to take a Deku leaf out of his book and do the same, then listen up because we revised the submission process to make it a much simpler experience. For those willing to put their story/experience forth and be credited for it, along with any photos you wish to send in as well, be sure to visit our Facebook Page Miketendo64 and send us a direct message. Or should you prefer a more direct route, you can send us an email at: miketendo64@gmail.com. We wish to have this series run for as long as possible, so there is no limit to the number of stories you can send in to us and nor is there a closing date for submissions, so what are you waiting for? Get in touch and leave your mark on the series today!

This has been Issue #4 of Zelda You: Our Stories, we hope you enjoyed it and encourage you to come back two weeks from now (July 24th 2016,) for the next instalment!

  1. I’m for the remake of Link’s Awakening!

    I miss Marin.

You know interestingly enough, this games with Mario characters such as Goombas, spined shells, piranhas, and cheeps (fish from Mario 1) , It’s rare to see Mario cameos in Zelda except for Malon, Talon… could the remake actually reuse this characters?
