Nintendo Iberia (aka Nintendo Spain) will be kicking off their yearly tradition of touring the Peninsula to give the general public an opportunity to try their games for free during their Nintendo Switch 2 Summer Tour. Starting June 28th, Nintendo will be in Cádiz for three days at the San Antonio Plaza. The tour will then continue to other towns and cities including, but not limited to, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Malaga, Áviles and Almería. There are 13 towns in total with more to be confirmed at a later date.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Summer Tour will have 15 games over 74 gaming stations for people to try out. Such games include Mario Kart Tour, Donkey Kong Bananza, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, the new StarFox, Mario Tennis Fever, Rhythm Paradise Groove, Tomodachi Life Living The Dream, and come the end of July, Splatoon Raiders will be available to play as well.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Tour, Nintendo’s traditional summer tour, will visit 13 Spanish cities this summer. The first stop will be in the Plaza de San Antonio in Cádiz.
Madrid, June 17, 2026 – Summer is here, and the plan is to relax, cool off, spend great moments with family… and, of course, celebrate Super Mario’s 40th birthday together by enjoying his best games for Nintendo Switch 2.
As every year, the Nintendo Switch 2 Tour is preparing to begin its journey: during the summer months of 2026, the tour will visit 13 Spanish cities, with 74 gaming stations and more than 15 different video games. The goal: to provide friends and families with a completely free opportunity to have fun together and for everyone to get their hands on an experience that will bring a smile to their face. Cádiz will kick off the tour: on June 28, 29, and 30, the Nintendo Switch 2 Tour will set up its tents in the central Plaza de San Antonio, from 6:00 p.m. until midnight, to take advantage of the cooler hours of the day.
Mario will be the star of this year’s event. The iconic Nintendo character is celebrating an anniversary (it’s been 40 years since the release of the Super Mario Bros. video game in Japan), and the Nintendo Switch 2 Tour tents will feature some of his most popular games. Speed enthusiasts can challenge themselves in the frenetic races of Mario Kart World and compete in its vast, interconnected world to claim first place using the accelerator, shortcuts, and banana peel tosses. If you prefer racket sports, Mario Tennis Fever is the perfect challenge: get ready to win games, sets, and matches—and watch out for the amazing effects of the tennis rackets! Those who enjoy playing on the same team can join forces in Super Mario Bros. Wonder and conquer its fun platforming levels together. Super Mario Party Jamboree offers both competitive and cooperative options through a wide variety of minigames perfect for group fun. And if you’re looking for a solo adventure, try Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 , two titles, enhanced for Nintendo Switch 2, that will take you on a journey through the cosmos with Mario, Rosalina and their beloved Lumas.
Mario’s friends are also part of this fun summer experience. The gluttonous dinosaur Yoshi, for example, stars in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book , a charming and endearing game where the challenge is to find and catalog new species. Mario’s eternal rival, Donkey Kong, will be present with Donkey Kong Bananza , an action-packed adventure that will take him, along with his young companion Pauline, to the very core of the planet in search of his beloved bananas.
Mario games are perfect for enjoying with friends, thanks to their bright and friendly nature, varied multiplayer modes, and accessibility for beginners. Many feature motion controls: Mario Tennis Fever , Mario Kart World (via steering wheel mode), and various minigames in Super Mario Party Jamboree allow you to play by making the desired movements with your hands, without needing to master complicated button combinations. Furthermore, Super Mario Bros. Wonder includes invulnerable characters so that novice players can progress at the same pace as experienced gamers, and Donkey Kong Bankanza has a help mode to ease the way for those who need it. Of course, all these titles are also full of challenges and hidden surprises, ensuring that even the most skilled players will find challenges worthy of their skill.
There are many different ways to play with the Nintendo Switch 2, and if you’re into cozy video games (relaxed, aesthetic, creative, and non-competitive), you’ll find the perfect spot to chill in the tour tents: with Animal Crossing: New Horizons you can create your own paradise on a tropical island where the days and seasons follow one another in harmony; in Pokémon Pokopia you can also build your own world (transforming a desolate wasteland into a paradise), while taking care of a growing population of adorable Pokémon; with Rhythm Paradise Groove you’ll face musical challenges where the key is to press the buttons in time with the beat. And if you’re looking for a good laugh, dive into the wacky world of Tomodachi Life: A Dream Life , a game that lets you create characters (called Miis) in the likeness of your loved ones, favorite celebrities, or fictional characters… and then send them to live together on an island to make friends, argue, fall in love, and get up to all sorts of crazy activities. At the Nintendo Switch 2 Tour tents, you’ll also have the chance to participate in the Tomodachi workshop, creating a Mii that you can print and take home in a personalized frame.
And you’ll find even more options in the Nintendo tents: the space adventure Star Fox , all the excitement of the World Cup in EA Sports FC 26 , and, starting at the end of July, Splatoon Raiders , the new and incredibly fun adventure in this paint-fighting saga. Take the opportunity to get your hands on all of them… And before you leave, stop by the Mario 40th Anniversary photo booth to take a souvenir photo with your favorite Mario.
After kicking off the tour in Cádiz, the Nintendo tents will continue their journey along the Andalusian coast, visiting towns such as El Puerto de Santa María (July 3-5), Málaga (July 10-12), and Almería (July 16-17). The tour will then head to other locations, including Gandía (Valencia), Calafell and Cambrils (Tarragona), Noja and Castro Urdiales (Cantabria), Avilés (Asturias), and Valladolid*. In total, a journey of over 2,500 kilometers filled with shared fun.
As someone who attended the Nintendo Switch 2 Summer Tour last year and the Nintendo Switch Summer Tour the year previously, I do appreciate the effort that Nintendo Iberia put in to make these events possible. As someone who creates content for a living and has reviewed games for Nintendo, there aren’t many surprises for me personally nor any necessity for me to wait in a queue for me to play a game I already own on my Switch 2.
However, I do get the opportunity to play these games with people I have never met before and make new friendships as we bond over Nintendo’s iconic titles. I do wish that other regional offices for Nintendo would take a leaf out of Nintendo Ibería’s book as it works not only as a good marketing tool, but it helps bring communities together as well.
