Save Your Empire. Defend Your Legacy — A timeless adventure returns, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is now on the Nintendo Switch™ 2, featuring high definition graphics, smoother frame rates, and decreased loading times.

This is a game that can be enjoyed by existing fans of the SaGa series and by complete newcomers as well.

  • Story — The Seven Heroes were once hailed as saviours, but the ancients feared their power and banished them to another dimension. Thousands of years have passed, and the heroes have become legend. It was foretold that the Seven would return to save the world once more, but what fate awaits its people now that they finally have?
  • Imperial Succession —  The player takes on the role of the emperors of Avalon and strives to expand their realm while battling against the Seven Heroes. To stand against the fearsome might of the Seven, successive emperors must wage an epic struggle over thousands of years, passing power and abilities down the Imperial line to future generations of rulers.
  • Characters —  Over 30 different classes, featuring a wide variety of races and professions.
    • Each class offers unique characteristics, as well as favoured weapons, abilities, and tactics. Characters of any class can become an emperor!
  • Free-form scenario — A unique story structure that offers players a high degree of freedom and gives them many choices to make, from how they expand the realm to what order to defeat the Seven Heroes in.
    • The decisions you make and the actions you take will have a significant impact on the outcome of the story.
  • Graphics — Characters have been converted into amazing 3D models, based on the original Romancing SaGa 2 sprites and the beautiful illustrations by Ms. Kobayashi Tomomi.
    • All the towns and dungeons are also rendered in full 3D, with re-worked terrain layouts.
  • Battles — The turn-based timeline battle system has been further enhanced, while keeping all the classic gameplay mechanics from the original, such as the “Glimmer” system that lets you learn new abilities in the heat of battle and “Formations” that enhance your fighters with a variety of different effects.
  • Difficulty settings — You can select from three difficulty levels: Casual, Normal and Hard (Classic).
    • Casual offers a more story focussed experience, while Normal is recommended for veteran RPG players and Hard is for players looking for the brutal but satisfying challenge of the original version
  • Music and voices — Mr. Ito Kenji, the composer for the original Romancing SaGa 2, returns to create new arrangements of the game’s music tracks. You can even choose between the original versions and the new arrangements from the options screen.
    • All event scenes now feature full voice acting recorded specially for this version.
