Nintendo Introduces “Play On” – Six Weeks Of Activites, Discounts & Rewards

Looking for new games to play on Nintendo Switch? Looking to tackle the backlog of finish a game you have been putting off? Nintendo has announced today a new initiative to help Switch players do all these things with PLAY ON! For the next six weeks, Nintendo will be hosting a number of activities to get gamers playing new and old games through Game Trials, completing missions to unlock rewards like Platinum Points, or offering discounts on select titles.

Nintendo has kicked off the activities with Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and next week being Nintendo Switch Sports. If you would like to know ow exactly what rewards and activities Nintendo has planned for their Play On campaign, you can check out the official press release below.

PLAY ON: SIX WEEKS OF ACTIVITIES, DISCOUNTS, REWARDS & MORE START TODAY ON NINTENDO SWITCH

Discounted games, a new Game Trial, Platinum Point rewards, bonus Gold Points and more are in store during the “Play On” campaign on Nintendo Switch

February 10^th, 2025 – Players are invited to finish what they started, dig into their backlog or find something new during the “Play On” campaign. Starting now until March 23^rd, multiple activities, sales and rewards all about continuing to play on Nintendo Switch are taking place.

Over the next six weeks, players can enjoy a wide range of discounted games as well as a new Game Trial, Platinum Point rewards for playing selected Nintendo titles, bonus Gold Points on Nintendo Switch Online 12-month membership purchases*¹  and more.

The Play On Sale kicks off the activities today and features discounted games for everyone until February 23^rd. Players can find their next Nintendo Switch game for less with digital savings on a wide range of titles, including Just Dance 2025 Edition, Balatro, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, OKAMI HD, and Sonic x Shadow Generations.

Moreover, up to £12 in Gold Points can be earned until March 23^rd by purchasing or renewing a Nintendo Switch Online 12-month membership and turning on auto-renewal.*² With Nintendo Switch Online, members can play online in many titles and access 170+ classic games on their Nintendo Switch, listen to selected soundtracks on their smart device with Nintendo Music and more.

Nintendo Switch Online members can Play On with Game Trials starting on February 24^th.Players have the chance to play the full version of a title for free, with a discount available for everyone until March 8^th. The Game Trial title will be announced and available to preload on February 20^th.

Additionally, Platinum Point rewards will be available over the next six weeks by playing selected Nintendo Switch titles.*³ Players can earn 30 Platinum Points per game and spend them on Nintendo Rewards, with a different title being featured every week.

Starting today with Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can earn their reward by returning to their cosy island life before February 16^th, after which Nintendo Switch Sports gets things moving for the week commencing February 17^th. Nintendo Switch Online members can earn even more Platinum Points each week and redeem them through the Missions & Rewards area of the Nintendo Switch Online app on their Nintendo Switch console.

Simultaneously, many other in-game activities are taking place across different titles.

• Play On with Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Until February 14^th, players can order Valentine’s themed items from Nook Shopping and receive a gift from Isabelle.
• Play On with Pokémon: Players can receive certain shiny Pokémon like Meloetta, Manaphy and more as Mystery Gifts in the smart device version of Pokémon HOME by completing each of the Pokédexes in various Pokémon games on Nintendo Switch.*⁴
• Play On with Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet: From February 14^th until February 16^th, players can join a Valentine’s-themed Milcery 5-star Tera Raid Battle in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.
