The time has come for Princess Zelda to set out on her very own adventure in the all-new The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for the Nintendo Switch, and because it’s dangerous to go alone, we’re on hand with a small series of guides to help you, the player find your way in this new Hyrule.

In this guide, we are detailing every costume you can obtain when scanning amiibo into Echoes of Wisdom and when you should do it:

Every amiibo Costume in Echoes of Wisdom:

Whilst players unlock the means to scan amiibo into the game, just as soon as they complete the opening tutorial, disappointingly, you can not obtain any costumes via amiibo until you have beaten the fourth dungeon that The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has to offer. It’s a huge annoyance, but at least you can still obtain items in the meantime when scanning the amiibo you do have.

Once you have reached the halfway point, however, after the fourth dungeon has been beaten and players have obtained the Royal Travel Attire, when you go to access the amiibo option now, you will see a message stating item variety has been increased. Once you have seen that message, it’s time to get scanning. As for which amiibo is required for which costume, we have all of that information right here:

Blue Attire:

Required amiibo: Any Zelda amiibo, including the Super Smash Bros. series Sheik amiibo

Item Description: A beautiful and elegant dress fit for a princess. Wearing it makles you feel royal.

Effect: None

Black Cat Clothes:

Required amiibo: Any Ganondorf amiibo, Bokoblin amiibo or any amiibo of the Champions from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Mipha, Daruk, Urbosa, and Revali)

Item Description: An old getup that lets you speak with cats. It’s a must-have for feline fans everywhere.

Effect: Allows Zelda to talk to cats.

Red Tunic:

Required amiibo: Any Link amiibo, including the Wolf Link amiibo

Item Description: A tunic accented with a belt and a pointed hat. Wearing it fills you with courage.

Effect: None.

As long as it is your first time using a Zelda, Ganondorf or Link amiibo after completing the fourth dungron, you will unlcok the costume on your first scan, but just keep in mind you can only scan three times a day.
