Latest News: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Spirits available in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Zelda & Splatoon Nintendo Live Tokyo 2024 Concerts Now Live on YouTube
New Pokémon Spirits in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
A new spirit event is underway this weekend for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Four new spirit are available to battle and add to you inventory and are themed on Pokémon from the base game of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violetand its DLC expansions The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk. There are four new spirits in total and they are Koraidon & Miraidon, Sprigatito, Fuecoco & Quaxly, Ogrepon, and Terapagos.
All four of these spirits will be available at random on the Spirit Wall in-game until February 12th, 2024. Beating them will net you with more snacks than usual as well. Having already beaten them ourselves, we have uploaded some gameplay footage on how to acquire them using our main Richter.
Its Concert Time!!!
In one of our previous M64 Latest posts, we covered Nintendo’s announcement on The Legend of Zelda Orchestra Concert and Splatoon3 Live Concert Ft. Deep Cut Concert that were going to be shared live to Nintendo’s respective YouTube channels. Well these concerts are now available for viewing and they are quite a treat to watch and listen, although I must admit they are quite surreal as well. By that I mean both concerts were recorded and were very nicely edited but because they were performed with an empty audience, there was no applause or feedback and after each song or musical composition, there was just silence before the next piece started.
For any of you who watch The Legend of Zelda Orchestra Concert and find it familiar, it is because it is the exact same arrangement that was present during Nintendo Live 2023 Seattle and PAX West (A video of that performance can be found on YouTube courtesy of Mario Party Legacy) was going to be performed at Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo before it was cancelled for reasons we have previously reported on. There is a big difference between both performances. While the musicians played beautifully on both occasions, you feel a lot more energy with the audience in the room.
As for the Splatoon 3 Live Concert ft Deep Cut, it was a similar ordeal with a lack of an audience but the concert itself was still a delight. Frye, Shiver and Big Man took to the stage courtesy of Holographic projection upon a transparent screen and the musicians playing in the background. For the most part, the Deep Cut crew had full monopoly on the stage but during an interval, Off The Hook stars Pearl and Marina showed up to play a musical number of their own. There is also an engagement between Off the Hook and Deep Cut but I shall leave you to enjoy that yourself if you wish to check out the concert yourself.
M64 Latest: More EXPlays On The Way And Blueskies Ahead!!
Time for some in-house news now. To be honest, I don’t have a lot to report on at the moment that I haven’t already shared in a previous post. We do have some more EXPlay reviews on the way, including one for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, and also for a freshly released game, Bullion: The Curse Of The Cut-Throat Cattle. We first played a demo of this game back in 2022 when we were at WASD in London and had such a blast playing it, I am really looking forward to jumping into it this weekend and will share my thoughts about it with you soon.
On another note, we have recently started up a Bluesky account. The new social media app opened its doors to the public earlier this week and so we took the opportunity to check it out. It has a ways to go before it becomes a buzzing hub like the glory days of Twitter but we are hopeful and should any of you make your way over to the new social media platform, be sure to drop us a follow and we will follow you back! We are still building up our account over there at the moment and while we aren’t throwing in the towel yet with X, its would still be good to have a decent social media platform to fall back on should the worse actually happens and X finally implodes on itself.
