With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom available to play on Nintendo Switch, as well as the new Nintendo Switch OLED Model – The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Edition, you may be wanting to expand on the experience of the game by picking up a few accessories that express your love and enjoyment for the Zelda series.
In this feature, we take a look at a few accessories that are available to purchase at various online and retail stores. The following accessories include switch carry cases, desk mats, amiibo figures, and Joy-Con grips.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch Carry Case (Nacon)

Possibly one of the first things Switch gamers pick up when purchasing a game in their favourite series is a carry case to accompany it (or maybe it is just me). The Legend of Zelda is one of my most favourite video game series of all time and when Tears of the Kingdom came out, I just had to get a new carry case for my Switch so I can show off what game I am currently playing in style.
This carry case from Nacon has the game’s cover art on the top side, and a little Hyrule family crest on the zip’s pull tag. While the interior of the case may be a bit bare bones in comparison to other carry case models, The Nintendo Switch OLED and standard Switch fit snuggly inside. It has elasticated pouches that can hold up to five cartridges and a flap that can be propped up to support the Switch in tabletop mode.
This is particularly handy for those with the 2017 or revised model Switch that only has the small plastic kickstand that can easily buckle and fall over if not placed on a stable enough surface. A small plastic case the size of a Switch cartridge is also supplied, which can take up to two micro-SD cards. The case is quite tough with a hard outer shell to take knocks and falls and is soft inside to keep the console and your carts safe.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Desk Mat (Paladone)

This desk mat I picked up from my local GAME store and is from the company Paladone, who make a lot of video game merchandise for the Legend of Zelda and Super Mario series. It features a part of the map of Hyrule along with the game’s logo and the Sheikah eye. The dimensions of the mat are 80 cm x 30 cm and is made of neoprene rubber, so it is resistant and flexible. Although the primary photograph makes the mat look a little misshaped, it is because it was straight out of the box and will in fact flatten out when placed on a flat surface.
The mat’s principal use, of course, is to be placed on a desk and under a keyboard and mouse. I, however, had other plans in mind and instead, repurposed mine to serve as a backdrop for most of the images shown in this feature and a display mat for some of my Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom memorabilia. To be honest, I think it works rather well as a complimentary display piece (see image below).

Joy-Con Comfort Grip – Princess Zelda (PowerA)
Now, this accessory was actually released in 2022 for Nintendo Switch. It is a comfort grip for the Joy-Con from PowerA, and while it looks great with the White Joy-Con from the Nintendo Switch OLED model, it looks even better when combined with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom themed Joy-Con.
The gold back of the comfort grip, while not exactly the same colour as the TOTK Joy-Con, blends in rather well and looks far better than the standard Joy-Con grip that was packaged with the Nintendo Switch OLED Model – The Legend of Tears of the Kingdom Edition.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Link amiibo (Nintendo)
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Link amiibo was always going to appear in this feature and we wanted to leave the best till last. While it serves very little purpose with the exception of unlocking a certain fabric for your paraglider in game and gifting materials and weapons, this Link amiibo looks absolutely amazing. Even if you pick it up solely to add it to your amiibo collection or more specifically, The Legend of Zelda amiibo collection, it is a fantastic looking figure and so highly detailed as well.
One little nitpick I have with this amiibo is that I would have loved for the arm to have glowed in the dark like the Boo amiibo in the Super Mario series. It isn’t quite a deal breaker as I would have bought the amiibo regardless but it would have been such a nice detail that would have been reflective to how the arm appears in the actual game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Keyring (Nintendo)
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom keyring is a My Nintendo reward that you can redeem for 600 Platinum Points. The keyring is diecast and is about 5 cm in diameter. The back plate is nothing to write home about but the front face has the Zonai hand, symbols, and writing etched into it.
What makes it particularly special is that it can actually glow in the dark and looks pretty darn cool whilst doing so. As for where to put it/hang it, your house keys or car keys may be a first choice but I found the perfect place for it. I connected mine to the side of my Nintendo Switch Carry Case to act as a much stronger and sturdier zip tag. It does the job and makes the case look even cooler!

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Pathfinder’s Handbook (MBPUK)
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Pathfinder’s Handbook is an incredible little booklet created by RowanFN from MBPUK. He has made a good selection of Nintendo Switch Instruction Manuals for some of Nintendo’s most popular first party titles and Tears of the Kingdom is the latest game to get the MBPUK treatment and is available to pre-order on the MBPUK Etsy store with Shipping to the UK and International.
This particular booklet is designed to fit snuggly inside the Nintendo Switch game case and boasts 52 pages that covers all the basic necessities, like controls, characters, new abilities, amiibo functionality, useful recipes, and so much more. We have purchased a good number of Rowan’s manuals in the past and they have never disappointed us. The Pathfinder’s Handbook is by far the best looking one yet and judging on his previous works, we just know this next one is an essential addition to any TOTK fan’s collection.

Really like the joy-con grip and the handbook, without manuals this will definitely come in handy!
The quality of the Handbooks are really top notch and very hamdy indeed especially with helpful tips and locations/descriptions of items and things. I do love the Joy-Con grip too. It is a rather simple design but it works so well with the TOTK Joy-Con
I love the Joy Con Soft Grip with Zelda. It’s gorgeous and comfortable. I love the art and colors. They fit perfectly.
They do indeed. I’m actually surprised that they work so well together. Its like they were made for each other.
I like the “Pathfinder’s Handbook” almost no new game have manuals, just an empty case:(. Also that deskmat/mouse pad looks awesome^^
The mouse pad is a favourite of mine for sure. The Handbook is a quality item for sure and a fine addition to any collection.
That desk map is brilliant! Definitely my favourite, without a doubt -@troglomyte32331
It really is. Whether for its intended use or display purposes, it looks great!
