Hello all, It’s Mike here! With the festive season in full swing and the end of the year almost upon us, I just wanted to take the time to wish you all a very Happy Holidays!
2021 has been another roller coaster year for many of us with plenty of ups and downs, and the hope of a COVID-free 2022 does not seem to be on the cards. That said, some normality did return briefly and we had some pretty stellar game announcements from E3, Gamescom, Summer Fest, and from some smaller outlets as well.
Physical video game events made a return, albeit with some restrictions to keep attendees, exhibitors, and organizers safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19. I even had the opportunity to attend some gaming events in person including EGX in London, Road to Gamepolis in Málaga, and Game 4 Play in Chiclana de la Frontera (Cádiz, Spain). It was such a great feeling to be interacting with gaming community in person again, and meeting up with some of the amazing people that greatly supported Miketendo64 over the years like Ryan Brown at Super Rare Games, Pete Beckett from Rapid Reviews, Jason from The Cross Players, and of course, Edward & Jess from Nintendo UK.
As regards to Miketendo64, 2021 has been our second-best year to date with over 607,000 views in time of writing this post and 421,000 unique visitors. That might sound like a pittance in comparison to large sites like IGN or Eurogamer who probably get that many views and visitors in a day but for a small independent website like us, this is truly amazing and it wouldn’t have been possible without YOU! That’s right, You. You, who visit our website and follow us on social media. We deeply appreciate you taking the time to support our website as it gives us the strength to carry on and keep writing features, guides, interviews, and covering the latest video game news.
Of course, our great content doesn’t just come from thin air, it requires resources. In most cases these resources come from the developers, publishers, and PR firms who entrust us with review codes for their games. With these review codes, our team can write their Explain & Play reviews (EXPlays), upload gameplay videos to our YouTube channel, and write guides assist players looking for help in some of their favourite games. I would like to thank all the developers, publishers, and PR firms for supporting Miketendo64 and may we continue to support each other throughout 2022 and beyond.
As I wrap up this post, I wanted to share some of our plans for the year ahead. We will continue to write features, EXPlays, and guides and we hope to have more exclusive interviews with people in the gaming industry and gaming community as well. We are also looking for more ways to expand Miketendo64 and increase our audience and following. We are also planning more giveaways throughout 2022 so do be sure to keep following us and stay tuned for future announcements.
Thank you again for supporting Miketendo64. I wish you all and your families a very happy Holidays and may 2022 be prosperous for us all.
Until Next Time, Keep On Gaming!Tags: Editorial, Happy Holidays, Miketendo64, Nintendo, Nintendo UK
