Good morning Campers, change is upon us! With Version 1.3.0 out for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and size records added for fish and bugs, an event of a different kind has now kicked off. Instead of an event that sees us visiting Saltwater Shores. Why? Well, there’s a Fishing Tourney now underway and trophies can be won! But because there’s quite a bit to the event, here’s a rundown of everything you could need to know about it

What is Fishing Tourney?

As its name suggests, the Fishing Tourney, is a Fishing Tournament. The event is restricted to Saltwater Shores and requires only the best and by best, we mean special. Special fish, such as the Clown Fish, Surgeonfish and Barred Knifejaw can be recognized by a sparkling shadow in the water that can be caught like any other fish in the game.

Pro Tips: (Before and After the Event)

  • 80 Leaf Tickets can be used to hire a Golden Rod for the duration of the event. It may not let you catch 2 regular fish at the same time, but you can snag 2 for 1 Tourney Fish every time.
  • Tourney and Large Tourney Throw Nets can also be used to catch multiple fish.
    • Large Tourney Throw Nets require 20 Leaf Tickets to purchase.
    • When the Fishing Tourney is over, both Tourney Throw Nets will be unavailable for purchase.
  • When the event is over, all Tourney Fish will disappear from your inventory. (Clown Fish, Surgeonfish & Barred Knifejaw) However, if you log in while your trophy is available for pick-up, all Tourney Fish in your inventory will be measured and reflected in your total-size record.
  • When the Fishing Tourney is over, Chip Challenges will no longer be able to be completed.

  • I’m confused on the Records tab. Out from your total and your friend’s total is a fish. Can these be changed? Does the three different ones have any meaning?

    • The game doesn’t seem to explain what they do, but they might be the last fish you caught/handed in.

      • Thanks, but that does not seem to be it. I’m thinking it may have something to do with what hour you play it maybe?

      • Yes. You are correct. It is the last fish you caught or are given. You do not need to hand it over . It changes immediately once it is in your inventory. I guess if it is caught in a net, it looks like it is the first one listed though.

Now I wish I could differentiate what fish it might be when fishing.
