There is a game a certain part of the gaming community on Switch and as luck would have it, it might be happening after all.

After months of hope and some rumours alluding to an Animal Crossing release on Nintendo Switch, or even 3DS, it has been discovered that Nintendo Co., Ltd. have applied for a new trademark. This is what Japanese Nintendo had to say about the filling and its purpose in their coverage of the news:

Nintendo Co., Ltd. have applied for a further Animal Crossing (English name) trademark in Japan for a variety of purposes including software for a home video game machine, portable electronic game machine, and smartphone devices, as well as stuffed animals, game machine controllers, board games, playing cards, protective carrying cases, trading card games, and much more! Full application (in Japanese) pictured below

A platform may not have been specified at this moment in timer, but this is news to get excited about, as it means we could now be a couple of weeks, to a couple of months away from a reveal that will delight many and maybe even blow their minds.
